Hiroshi Fujiwara reports about this latest New Balance collaboration with UK brand/agency Gimme 5. The upper of the sneaker is entirely in black, thus stays very simple. On the tongue there is a multicolor embroidery – “576 – Made in England”. The special thing about these sneakers is another feature though – it seems like one gets the sneaker with several logos and can interchange them. This has been done before by Lotto in the 80’s, where the logo could be interchanged and attached via velcro. The signature “N” logo comes in matching colors of the tongue embroidery, and then you can choose your favorite color or match it to your outfit. Very nice idea, now we just have to see what mechanism is used to hold the logo, in order to see if this also holds nicely and still looks good. But in principal a very cool idea!
