In 2007, Vans will undertake an unprecedented art program in Los Angeles, bringing together six of the area’s top emerging and recognized art talents by featuring their original work on a prominent billboard in the city. The project runs under the name Vans Sky Gallery.
For the duration of the project these six artists’ work will appear for two months at a time and culminate with a group show at a local gallery next November, presented by Vans. In addition, Vans will make a $1,000 donation to the local charity of each artist’s choice, on their behalf, giving back to the city that has given the company and these artists so much.
All six artists created for the occasion artwork for the billboard as well as custom Vans sneakers. Until now Vans has revealed the works of Marco Zamora, Sage Vaughn and Kelsey Brookes. There are three more to follow.
