With the Resurgent Series, Freshjive brings back tees with the very first graphics Rick Klotz had ever done for the brand. Many of you will remember these graphics, that had an impact on an entire industry and still inspire today. The tees are now available on Digital Gravel.
“Between 89 and 92, we used to do promotional videos. My good friend, Frank Sacramento, who was getting into video direction at the time (De La Soul, House of Pain, Dru Hill, Sir Mix A lot, Freestyle Fellowship, The Roots, Mobb Deep, Blondie, Brand Nubian, Everlast, Funkdoobiest, Redd Kross, The Breeders, etc.), used to film them for us. We would get the whole posse of Angelinos up in the vids, including friends from the music side of things (The Pharcyde, House of Pain guys, N’Dea Davenport of the Brand New Heavies, Proper Grounds), get some beer, some weed, and be retarded in front of the camera.
In reference to our OLD VIDEO, we’ve put out this NEW VIDEO, including 2 of my OG friends, Ben Gruenberg and Sandman, who appear in the first videos, and who are still alive and kickin’. And thanks to my boys at Delicious Vinyl for lending us the track. More to come!”
