Since 1996, CONCEPTS has remained a stopping ground for sneaker fans, skaters, and snowboarders. Originally conceived as a “store within a store” in the rear of Harvard Squares’ famous (and massive) shoe stop The Tannery, the original CONCEPTS brought to Boston one of its first lifestyle shops catering to sneaker/skate/snow.
Today, CONCEPTS opened its own doors after having remained hidden in the back of the Tannery for the last 12 years. As you can see from the photos, the full build-out is exceptional.
Designed in partnership with Soldier Design (Boston), the wood panels on the walls and ceiling of the space are meant to depict the ply layers of a skateboard, holding to the origins of CONCEPTS as a skate destination.
Wool felt is found on the seating, rolling glass doors in the rear, fireplaces in the centerpiece, and in the basement lies a members only lounge (no photos allowed).
The new CONCEPTS carries a wide array of lines including Nike (Teir0), Double RL, Surface to Air, Comme des Garcons, Visvim, Devilock, LVC, and more…
We’ll try not to give away all the secrets inside the new CONCEPTS. Be sure to check out the photos for more views into the space. And yes, that is a Futura piece.

Their sneaker selection is out of control.
Exceptional shop! I see Huf’s, I see Mork’s, wonder what other heat they’ve got.
