Mix tapes have always been an integral part of NYC’s underground culture and burgeoning music scene, and as such, Mishka is proud to carry on the tradition with the launch of Keep Watch. Featuring top DJs hailing from every genre and geographic corner, Mishka’s Keep Watch party-mixes celebrates one of the most widely practiced American art forms. Released bi-monthly with an accompanying party to boot, the mixes will be available for free download through mishkanyc.com and iTunes.
To kick off the Keep Watch series, they have invited their Canadian friends, Jokers of the Scene (JOTS), to put together something special just for you. This first volume by JOTS also celebrates the 5th anniversary of their high popular club night Disorganised,which has hosted the earliest Canadian appearances of such party heroes like MSTRKRFT, CSS, Diplo, Crystal Castles and Girl Talk. Listeners can expect to hear mind-melting mixes that are loud, fun and guaranteed to light up dance floors.
For those looking for more mix mayhem from JOTS, be sure to catch their 5th Anniversary party live in Ottawa on July 17th, 2008, with special guest Diplo.
