Born on April 1, 1960, the cherry red 8-hole Dr. Martens (the 1460) boot is nothing short of an icon. Celebrating the boots legacy, and its life in separate subcultures, Dr. Martens has invited a healthy number of artists to work from the 1460 canvas. Among the invited were Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Chrome Hearts and Rick Owens. There are 69 of them in all (SSUR, United Bamboo, WK Interact, etc), and even one inspired by the late Stephen Sprouse. (Via Nylon Mag).

These are all extremely impressive designs. Hopefully they\’ll inspire some more avant garde bootwear in the mainstream market.
it is not new but always a good idea
Pretty bold designs, none of which are bad, thought I wish they’d broaden their appeal to a wider market.
