After years of not producing anymore the iconic Desert Boot by Airwalk, they have now come back into production, after the personal request by Beastie Boys memeber Adam Yauch. The shoe is back in production, but only in very limited quantities. There will be 300 pairs of the shoe and it will NOT hit retail. These 300 pairs are given out to people.

To celebrate the occasion, Airwalk is hosting the “Break The Mold” event on January 27th at the Hotel On Rivington. Details of the event follow after the jump.

  1. Cheekster:

What an ugly-ass shoe. I’d rather go for the Clark’s dessert boot. Doesn’t matter how iconic this shoe may be, doesn’t make it any prettier.

  2. daaamn. talk about a stroll down mem’ lane.
i remember rockin these back in 1990.

  3. Interesting…is Airwalk still owned by payless?

  4. Airwalk is not owned by Payless. The company that owns Payless, Stride Rite, and others funds Collective, the company that owns Airwalk, so the only association between Payless and Airwalk is as a retailer of the brand.

  5. Suedehead:

Wow, looks just like Australia’s iconic Rossi ripple sole desert boot produced since the 50’s, except the Rossi’s are black.

    Truly “mold breaking”!

    ….NOT!
