5,247 photographers from 124 countries submitted 101,254 pictures for the 2012 World Press Photo contest. In the end 350 images by 57 photographers were awarded prizes in nine categories.

Working across drawing, painting, animation and sculpture, Parra creates an enigmatic and instantly recognizable style that defies easy categorization. We Are Handsome continues with their graphically inclined swimwear with a new collection called “The Romantic” for Spring/Summer 2012. Various prints such as floral and scenic have been utilized here, in addition to more animal prints. We’re not talking like cheetah or leopard patterns, but actual depictions of a puppy, snow leopard and toucan. You might be asking, “why a women’s swim wear post?” We’re just trying to prepare for a Spring/Summer state of mind, plus the photos are nice.

Curtis Kulig and Obey will be releasing a collaborative collection (we showed it to you here) and to further expand on it, the two have come together for this video clip providing insight into Kulig and Shepard Fairey’s history together. Check it out.

Pointer continues their successful collaboration with Comme Des Garcons for Spring/Summer 2012 with this clean and simple canvas and suede upper mixed with a classic tennis gum sole. As usual they keep things very suble as part of their collaboration. This season the sneaker will be available in white, navy and black from Comme des Garcons retailers around the globe.

Today we get a first look at the collaboration between Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club and Mark McNairy from New York. Of course McNairy was heavily inspired by vintage Americana and presents a nice capsule collection in collaboration with the streetwear brand with a few very strong signature pieces.

“The line of luxury gear was born out of a conversation Williams and McNairy had over a possible boot collaboration that turned into a full capsule collection. Even the collection’s name, Bee Line, has noble ties as Williams was inspired by Napoleon’s decision to replace fleur-de-lis with the insect as France’s royal symbol. Most categories of menswear are covered in the assortment, from outerwear to boots, and all of the gear is made in the USA save for the sweaters woven in Scottish mills.”

We have seen it for the iPad and now it will soon also come out for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. The iCade Junior is an arcade style controller for the smaller Apple devices, including the iPhone 4. Looks fun, but you still need pretty small hands to work the device. Look out for an official release from Ion soon.

We are always open for innovation, as such we are happy to see the new Asics Gel-Hyper 33 sneaker. The new running shoe from Asics features Propulsion-TRUSSTIC and a sandwich midsole for comfortable and direct ground control. Furthermore the brand has used a light weight web mesh upper, which by the way also looks really nice.

The sneaker is now available in two colorways from Solebox.

Maison Martin Margiela’s staple Replica sneaker receives another interesting makeover as seen here with this “Pixelated” version of the shoe. We’re enjoying what’s going on here with the combination of white canvas at from the heel on up to where the contrasting dark canvas begins to take over. These shoes definitely have it going on.
