Chanel is one of those luxury brands, that always stuck to their classic aesthetics over the years, while also showing some great innovation. Karl Lagerfeld still impresses us with his creativity and drive to surprise the crowds. During the last Chanel fashion show they presented the new Perspex Briefcase. The execution of this suitcase is brilliant in terms of look and concept. Via Artschoolvets.

  1. D-Bag:

    man purse.

  2. Vijay Santhanam:

this is retarded. i\\\’m going to put all my important documents, used underwear and cocaine in there so everyone can see? what else are rich people going to carry around?

  3. I think its great. Is it useful? No, but its about concept and the idea. Obviously we will not see this around much, but that is also not the idea!

  4. what a great way to display everything you are carrying so a mugger can know what hes getting before he snatches the bag.

  5. Jimmy:

a good concept would combine function and innovation/aesthetics, but this seems to lack function

  6. Sol:

Excellent idea! This is why I love artsy impractical designs. Not only does the briefcase look easy to snatch, I would also know what I\’ll get. Talk about mugging for what it\’s worth!

  7. M.J.:

What I do not think many people understand is that Lagerfeld does not take the industry as seriously as one may think. Obviously this will not be on the shelves, if it is even functional, it will be gifted to the upper crust.
Just look at what is displayed inside the “briefcase”, there is nothing outrageous. Nobody screams when you see someone toting a clear bag, but when the form is changed, and when it’s given Karl’s stamp of approval, it seems to be something new and scary.
I see it, rather, as new packaging for the Chanel lifestyle: perfume, a compact, what appears to be lipstick, an iPod so you can walk the ramp wherever you go, some Chanel eyeglasses, and a quilted purse!

obviously you keep the cocaine in the quilted section, along with the used panties.

  8. Ha, totally agree with M.J. on that one. Its a concept and a pretty cool one actually, just like the recent tote bag that featured Karl’s face. Dont take everything so serious and enjoy creativity.

Nice development of the miawolf iPod holder

I think the visibility may be less of a security issue than one might think. There\’s nothing on display that a thief wouldn\’t expect to find in any clearly expensive bag. Not that I\’d want to be a test subject for that theory.
