Undercover’s Jun Takahashi has been dabbling in doll-making for many years as a hobby and personal interest aside from fashion. Last week, following Undercover’s impressive menswear collection presentation at Pitti, guests were surprised with an impromptu doll-making performace by Jun and two assistants.
With multitude of Jun Takahashi’s Grace dolls sitting in a pine tree, and larger versions up to a meter tall standing below, the team created another doll live - from a pile of teddy bears, metal bars, light bulbs and wiring. Kan Takagi and Atsuhiro Ito accompanied the performance with their electronic punk improvised soundtrack, even utilising a fluorescent light bulb as a musical instrument.
A stunning animated film of the Grace dolls created by Jun Takahashi and the Undercover team was also shown at the event. We hope to show you that video soon, but for now have a look at some still images from the Undercover Doll-Making by Jun Takahashi after the jump.
