As you’ve no doubt heard, Lance Armstrong and Nike have united to launch Stages, a global art exhibition to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer. With contributions from over twenty of the world’s top artists, Stages takes Livestrong to a place where they can share their story with a whole new audience. In this video, Mark Parker, President & CEO of Nike, speaks on the event along with Stages contributers Jose Parla, Geoff McFetridge, Cai Guo-Qiang, Tom Sachs, Shepard Fairey, and Lance Armstrong himself. Truly inspirational.
Stages officially opens in Paris tomorrow, July 17 and runs until August 8, 2009 before travelling to the United States this fall.

Look, maybe i just came out from under a rock, and I understand the cause is great for all of this, but what ever happened to artists not going all nike on us? I understand lance is branding himself as art guy, but nike ain’t the cleanest brand on the planet (see southeast asia), and all these artists are committing to that, which is just a bit odd to me.
