STPL x Airwalk Fall/Winter 2009 Footwear

We get a first more detailed look at several styles from the STPL x Airwalk Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, designed by Jeff Staple and his Staple Design team. The line, which will be exclusive to Payless (other than The Reed Space), has certainly brought up many questions. From a pure aesthetic and design perspective this is certainly good news for both Airwalk and Payless.

The Fall/Winter 2009 Collection consists of low top and high top sneakers, as well as slip-ons. Premium materials have been used on the uppers, including exotic leathers, plaid and more. We like the more simple sneakers in the collection, which come in nice color combos for good price points. All footwear will go for under 50 USD.

Take a look at many more styles of the STPL x Airwalk Footwear Collection, which is on its way to stores now.

  1. I\’ve always tended to be a fan of the more subtle sneaker design, but recently my tastes have really changed because I\’ve started to really love the exotic palettes that lots of designers are coming up with like the Purple and Orange one in this STPL x Airwalk collection and can definitely see it going brilliantly with a pair of jeans.

    Sweet stuff.

  2. Brooks:

I can appreciate the pricepoint. I like the fact that people can afford these. But am I the only one who thinks stpl is overrated? Aside from the NB’s I haven’t really been impressed.

  3. kwvin:

Brooks, can we see your website and portfolio? Cuz you know….you must be the bomb ass designer. Staple lays their ass on the line. So that you can sit there and hate? Let\’s see what you got.

  4. Sean:

@ Kwvin – Its an opinion friend. If a guy cant give one then we all might as well move to China & give up. Staple may put their ass on the line (i dont think know one doubts that) but that doesn\’t necessarily make them good, as you can see with these shoes. Again that\’s an opinion, not hating. There is a difference believe it or not.

  5. blacksole:

OOo, the brown+black r dope. i\\\’ve been looking for sneaks w/o white soles for months and for 50bucks each i can get both styles !

  6. marv albert:

wait till you see them in person and they look like trash and a week into owning them they fall apart. you get what you pay for.

  7. CJ:

@Marv I have had my Heavens for over a month wearing them nearly everyday and they still look like new. Nothing wrong with these kicks and all the reviews tend to agree

For the rest of you, the stplxairwalk.com is up and you can sign up for updates. The collection is also now available nationwide. I am doing some work with the campaign for this collab, and I gotta say I not only appreciate what Jeff is doing here, but I also genuinely like them.
