Wallpaper Guest Edited by Philippe Starck and Karl Lagerfeld | The Covers

Once again Wallpaper magazine worked with two guest editors on their October issue. For October 2009 Wallpaper magazine was edited by Karl Lagerfeld and Philippe Starck. We get a first look at the covers today and both creatives pushed the limits of magazine printing in interesting ways.

“Lagerfeld wanted a ‘peel and reveal’ sticker to coat his cover, showing his muse Baptiste Giabiconi fully clothed in a Dior Homme suit, which peels off to reveal the model in the same pose completely nude behind.

Starck’s cover is similarly ambitious and involved equal amounts of experimenting to get it right to his exacting specifications. A visual incarnation of the questions on evolution he asks his chosen panel, his cover involves three sheets of tracing paper, over a blank silver cover.”

More detailed views of the upcoming Wallpaper magazine covers by Karl Lagerfeld and Philippe Starck follow after the jump.
