Today we can show you the short film by Spike Jonze, starring Kanye West, entitled “We were once a Fairytale”. An interesting and somewhat unexpected project to come from the musician. Check it out!
Girl:”We were just trying to have a conversation.”
Ye: “& I’m tryna do the same thing. I’m just tryin to have a conver-saaation. That’s all. I’m not thinkin about SEX! Like all these other fucking guys!!……..I’ll talk to you guys later!”

Nicole,
I believe it’s all about him dealing with his own demons.
Sometimes, you gotta look in the mirror and cutt’em out in the mens bathroom.
That one line \I’ll talk to you guys later\ might be a club favorite.
I have new respect for this man.
Keep them guessing Yeezy.
I understood that concept, but wtf was that thing? HELLA creepy. haha.
The ending was the higlight for me. & the throw up part was so fake. haha. I liked that they didnt use real vomit though. Yeezy has such a creative & artistic mind. I respect him alot for that.

We were once a fairytale….Kanye and his vision of what success would be. Kanye arrived with the College Dropout bear, he had fame, money and was doing what he loved, but life was less demanding and stressful. The demon he pulls out represents the College Dropout bear and his wanting to exchange life and what he has become to simpler times. I like Rob-O’s assessment also.
the use of confetti for throw up/blood was really creative. pretty cool film.. seems to coincide with Where the Wild Things Are with the little monster at the end. oh and nice koston cameo
wtf kanye tried to make some art shit and ended up making bull shit. That takes effort. Ibn Jasper yea i know it so your song classic
I cant wait til Peter Chao does a remake of this documentary.

This was hilarious and depressing at the same time. Overall pretty dope especially with the Eric Koston cameo
Very strange video – enjoyed watching it just because it kept being surprising and interesting. Need more originality like this in the music industry.

I wrote a lil review on this here: http://nicolasheller.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/1828/ The entire film reminded me of Freud’s theory(well part of the theory) on the Id, Ego, and Super Ego
