I hope this is a joke, this is pure Sad. Japan has Visvim, Soph, Comme Des Garcons and plenty of other brands. They don’t need BAPE designing dress clothing.

well, people say bape is for kids…they do suits and smart stuff….and people complain. get a grip…bape has been around for years, and yeah it’s had quite a few patchy seasons these recent years but still comes out with some real gems…props to bape, the only thing i fear is the prices :S
and why don’t they need BAPE to do dress clothing? just adds some variety to the game…
Don’t forget, Nigo used to model for Cross Colors Japan. It’s just trend puddle jumping at it’s finest.
FYI the era and social demographics of the pieces put together on the display are completely wrong. A news boy hat would never be found on a 3piece English cut suit and wing tips weren’t even introduced until 60+ years after that style. Just goes to show…
Not sure what to think, but the negativity certainly comes mostly because its Bape. Why should they not be doing suits? They made the all-over print big, when that trend was over people suddenly started becoming all negative about the brand. Now they are back with URSUS Bape offering a more grown-up look again and people seem to slowly come back to Bape, at least a little. Will you see me wearing Bape suits anytime soon? No, for sure not, but Bape suits are about as necessary as Gucci sneakers, Chanel snowboards, Hermes Helicopters, etc. Its brand expansion and at least you can count on Bape choosing the right partners for such an expansion. Regardless the design and the overall negativity the brand gets since a couple of years, show me an American or European streetwear brand that caters at such a quality level? Yes, they are expensive, but they deliver quality that you do not find anywhere else in this market.
