Creative Recreation Fall/Winter 2010 Footwear Preview

Creative Recreation Fall/Winter 2010 Footwear Preview

We present an early preview of the upcoming Creative Recreation Fall/Winter 2010 Footwear Collection. Spit into various lines, Creative Recreation takes an overall more classic approach on their sneakers, especially in terms of colors and materials. Also each category will see releases of new silhouettes in F/W 2010. The “Made in Italy” premium collection looks very different from previous seasons and takes a much more fashionable and grown-up approach, even moving away from what we perceive as a sneaker.

Take a more detailed look at some styles from the Creative Recreation Fall/Winter 2010 Collection after the jump.

UPDATE: Some of you might have followed the discussion below surrounding one of the images in the new Creative Recreation campaign. We had a quick chat with their Marketing team and everything makes more sense now. Please read a full explanation by Creative Recreation, regarding the idea behind the campaign and their overall involvement in Africa, after the jump.

“IN regards to the comments and photo posted on highsnobiety, we at Creative Recreation completely understand the confusion that has sparked from our campaign photo. It is my goal though, to clearly communicate that our sole purpose in shooting the campaign in Africa, and amongst these people, is to communicate the beauty that is in Africa, showcase the people and lives that have inspired us, as well as give a small glimpse of the wonders and beauty of these people and this country.

Over the past year, we have been fortunate enough to have involvement with many charities in Africa and in July we donated over 10,000 pairs of shoes to local charities in Africa. Also, during this past trip, we were able to spend time with the people there and even were able to buy their village a cow, which is extremely valuable to them and their culture.

As a marketing team, we stand behind this campaign, as our sole purpose is to bring other cultures and experiences to those that may not be able to experience it first hand. With the above being said, and in order to avoid any further confusion, this photo will be taken down and replaced. We hope our intentions with this campaign are clearly communicated and better understood.”

  1. Moi:

Whats about the african background picture ….

    Anyway, collection looks bad.

  2. BRIAN:

Yes, I agree with Moi, what is the point using African people as background? It makes me feel guilty to purchase over-priced shoes (we all have too many pair at home), meanwhile, these poor family can’t even afford education nor…shoes.

we should just donate our \shoe\ money to the less-fortunate…

  3. dr:

Hey…look! We make high end shoes and you don’t have any. But we will be happy to use you to make our shoes appear to have more appeal than they really do.

    LAME!!!

  4. dave:

seriously! What is up with that backdrop? have you no shame CR?

  5. Interesting perspective guys, I am sure CR did not consider that when producing the shot!

  6. Trust me, somebody in CR Marketing is in some trouble! I am just waiting to get an eMail to please replace the image…

  7. paegan:

politically incorrect and outstandingly hideous collection, glad i never had the urge to mess wit this brand in the first place

  8. keef:

Glad I’m not the only that was uncomfortable when looking at that pic.

  9. thetuth:

check the cr blog for more info on this. this picture is taken out of context. CR is raising money to GIVE BACK to africa and they do their shoots in various locations around the world to inspire the designs. when the whole campaign comes out, it will make more sense. dont jump to conclusions….

  11. Brad:

aren’t we…uh..in the fall/winter season now? are these not coming out till next september? why not show the spring preview?

  12. Peter:

Art director should be fired !

ohh i wish i could afford those shoes
    so close
    but so far away
    were barefoot here
and have to walk uphill both ways
    on razor sharp rocks

  13. jt:

fall 10 shoes, clothes, etc is being shown at all the trade shows right now, that is why this is a preview…spring 10 stuff wouldn’t be a preview right now, that shit is in stores now.
Also, according to the Creative Rec blog, they donated a bunch of money and shoes while they were
    shooting in africa.

  14. RKL:

The negativity towards the CR Africa campaign is perplexing. I saw a picture of shoes set in the foreground of a traditional village and beautiful people.

I seems that CR went to Africa to shares the beauty of it’s people and landscape with us through their campaign and are blasted by people who don’t recognize the contributions to the commerce and charity provided by their visit.

10,000 pairs of shows donated to the people of Africa.
A cow given to a village(I assume the one they shot photos in).
Money spent in the local communities with local business’.

It seems like a good example of how a company should act to me.

  16. Daniel:

RKL is right. They’re being actually more supportive than most companies with sweatshops in Asia…

Kudos to CR. They’re pushing the boundaries with this collection and it shows. This is not for the usual sneaker fan, but it’s still forward and makes us think of different concepts as well.
