Vans worked with Canadian boutique Livestock for a series of photo tees. Entitled “Painted,” the photographs by Kenta Goto represent a series of textures familiar to anyone who’s ever picked up a skateboard.
“The world looks quite differently through a skateboarder’s eyes. A set of stairs are not just for walking up and down, ledges and planters aren’t just architectural containers and displays for greenery, railings are not just for holding on to….. This series of photographs takes the idea of how skateboarders see and use urban structures and “paint” the city with their skateboards. Skaters mark up and wear out these structures and continue to reshape and add colour to our cities.”
Have a look at all three “Painted” images after the click.

The target market for these t-shirts aren’t skaters themselves, which seems obvious to the naked eye.
You think skaters would wear pictures of shit they grind on?
These shirts are for people that want to be like skaters, particularly those who arent in any specific cliche, so they can have a sense of belonging.
Earn your bona fides.
I got a good look at some of these shirts and they are awesome!! Whoever came up with this idea was a genius because they are going to sell like crazy.
