Nike SB P-Rod 5

Nike SB P-Rod 5 Sneaker

Nike SB had a full-out P-Rod by Nike SB booth set up at Agenda in Anaheim, the highlight of which was the all new P-Rod 5 sneaker. Technically speaking, the shoe is decked out with no sew construction, TPU reinforced suede, improved tread and a Lunarlon midsole, making for a highly functional, great looking skate shoe. Look for these this summer.

  3. [...] The “Statue of Liberty” Dunk High has a Seagrass-green upper, which pays tribute to the current color of the monument. Cream accents on the shoe get the color of Lady Liberty’s stand into the design. Much like the American flag on the “Born in the U.S.A.” Dunk High, the Statue of Liberty replaces the usual “Nike SB” text on the tongue tag. As if these details did not point enough towards the Statue of Liberty, this last one should. The reason I said current color before is because the Statue of Liberty was not always the light green shade that it is today. The monument came to be what it is today because of patination, a chemical process that turned the copper layer over the iron Statue of Liberty into a layer of green. Patination occurs due to chemical reactions between metal and water. So, wouldn’t it be correct to say that if you tried scraping the green layer off the Statue of Liberty, you would find a light copper layer, and then a silver iron layer? Nike SB would say so, from the looks of the “Statue of Liberty” Dunk High, and more specifically, one of its special features. As you wear the “Statue of Liberty” Dunk High, the foil upper’s green color will shed, revealing a copper color. As the upper is scraped away, a silver color will show itself underneath. Rumor has it that the “Statue of Liberty” Dunk High is the February 2011 quickstrike release. Hopefully, we’ll be able to confirm that when February rolls around, as this shoe looks beautiful.
