A while ago Mercedes-Benz released an interesting print advertising campaign for their flagship SLS AMG sports car. Created by prestigious Germany ad agency Jung von Matt, they play with the logos of competitor brands Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini. The message seems to be that the respective sports cars from these brands are all lacking behind the SLS AMG. In our opinion a rather bold move, promoting their car by mainly plastering a large competitor logo on the ad. What do you think?

We already presented the two Spring 2012 colorways of the Nike Pre Montreal Racer Vintage. Here is now a look at a UK Exclusive colorway, which comes with a two tone suede and nylon upper and distinctive Nike Vintage treatment. The sneaker that originally released in 1973, is now available in the above blue version at Size.

As we are only days away from the new year, there are of course again a wealth of new movies about to be released in the new year. We previewed many of them, but it is hard to keep track. Here is a round up of the 10 most anticipated movies releasing in 2012, bringing you up to speed.

Today we can present the full Givenchy Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign. Featured is supermodel Gisele Bundchen in this Mert & Marcus produced campaign. The campaign showcases the upcoming Givenchy men’s and women’s collections in a dark beach scenario.

Another highlight from the upcoming New Balance Spring 2012 Collection has arrived at some retailers. The brand presents a solid looking black version of the M998 ‘Made in USA’ sneaker. Accents are set in a nice classic red, making it a perfect color combination on the crisp and clean white outer sole. Up There has them in stock already.

After the lookbook presentation with model Siri Blomquist yesterday, we can give you a more detailed look at the upcoming Asics GEL Saga ‘Mazarine Blue’ by Ronnie Fieg today. Coming in a very special blue tone, the sneaker will release on December 29th, 2012, at both Kith Manhattan and Kith Brooklyn, with each location getting 90 pairs out of the 300 pairs total. Also Kith will release a matching fleece letterman jacket, made of 26 oz. Canadian fleece. Only 60 of the jackets have been produced.

When Bape launched their new URSUS Bape Collection a couple of years ago, and chose Tet from WTAPS as creative director for the line, we were definitely excited. After years of doing the same thing and exclusively being known for super bold and colorful all over prints, it seemed like the right move. Tet took a bit of a more grown-up direction for the line, which was like WTAPS mostly inspired by vintage military goods.

Fast forward to 2011 and the Bape main line has at this point further adapted to general fashion trends as well, meaning that vintage and heritage goods have entered the collection. Collaborations with Harris Tweed and Mackintosh are part of the Bape main line, as well as work with Porter and other great brands. In our opinion, these kind of collaborations should have gone into the URSUS Bape line. Why?

Here we present the new URSUS Bape Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook. What can we say about it? To be honest not much, because it could not be any more boring. If it was labeled GAP, we would actually believe it. Simple tops, no exciting accessories and the entire more grown-up approach that we saw in the first collections also seems to be gone, best showcased by the 16 year old model, that was used for the lookbook. Unfortunately, URSUS Bape seems to have come to an end. That is at least our opinion. When we applauded the simplicity at launch time of the brand, it has become so simple at this point, that any excitement is simply missing. Simple is fine, but you still do need the right details to convince a customer.

Bunney continues to create premium versions of rather regular items. The latest one is a sterling silver padlock in several sizes. They are handmade by one of the last remaining locksmiths able to make a padlock from scratch in England. A release is scheduled in the near future at Tomorrowloand Japan and Oki-Ni.

A Bathing Ape and Porter got together to produce a special iPhone/iPod bag. Released exclusively at select Apple Stores in Japan, the cases feature the signature Bape camouflage pattern at the bottom. (Via Cool Trans)
