We feature on a regular the Burton Idiom Collection here, technically more interesting though is the AK Collection by Burton. The line has fully embraced the technical advances of Gore-Tex and uses it these days on practically ever single outerwear piece. For Fall/Winter 2009-2010 they present a very solid line-up of jackets, matching pants and more. Along with Gore-Tex they also present a new generation of riri waterproof zippers this season, the best there is in the market. We especially like the more simple colors in the collection, which are great for boarding, but also for everyday use in the city. Available now at Burton flagship stores.

The full 2010 lineup from Burton’s design-oriented sub label iDiom hit the web today. Usual suspects such as the 3L jacket, Continuum down jacket, and Insulator jacket return with updated construction and new colorways. Also seen this is season are a 5L jacket, a hooded soft shell and several snow pant styles. Each piece comes in several colors with grey, purple, black and pink being the dominant palette. Honeyee has released a new feature, an interview between the people of FYI and Hiroshi Fujiwara. FYI develops the Burton AK collection and Hiroshi Fujiwara is in charge of the iDiom line. They talk about the difference of the two lines and how the AK line is about function and technology versus iDiom being about function and fashion.

After giving you several previews of the collection and showing a few pieces in detail, we can finally show you the complete iDiom Fall/Winter 2008 collection, designed this season by Staple Design and Fragment Design.
The collection offers down jackets, vets, shell jackets, matching pants, gloves and of course also a board.

We have bee big iDiom fans from the start. The simplicity and quality of the brand is just convincing, even if the prices sometimes hurt. Earlier this year we reported that the new collection coming later this year has been inspired by the environment in terms of design. Also for the first time it has been designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design and Staple Design from NYC.
The outcome is a collection that has a lot of green, black and white in it. Here you get a first look at the snowboard of the new collection, some pants and also a glimpse at the jacket, but nothing too concrete so far. Pics via Snowbroader.

Not only can we confirm thanks to Jeff Staple that the Burton x Carhartt collaboration is happening, we can even give you a look at one of the jackets that is part of the collection.
Two great brands with a lot of heritage got together, the outcome are technical jackets in classic Carhartt colors, a meaningful mix of the strenghts of both brands. A while back when we interviewed Greg Dacyshyn, he provided a pic with him already wearing one of the jacket of the collaboration (by the way, the board you see in the pic is an upcoming Burton x Playboy collaboration). This will already give you an idea of what to expect!
Also Jeff Staple mentions that the 2009 iDiom collection, coming later this year, was designed by Staple Design and Fragment Design and has a Green Theme.

iDiom has very quickly become one of our favorite lines. Bringing together minimalist looks with highly technical materials has always been of interest to us and they are one of the best at that.
Since iDiom is a sub-brand of Burton they of course also present each season some snowboard gear. You have all seen the new collection already that looks a bit more colorful than last season and today we show you the matching equipment for the slopes.
For the 2007/2008 season they present again a snowboard, matching bindings and of course also the boots. You can already now put it on your must-have list for the coming fall.
