ABSOLUT BLANK Atelier Event Recap

25 March 2012, 19.02 | Posted in Art, Events | No comments »

_DSC6961

Known for their creative initiatives, ABSOLUT Vodka launches ABSOLUT BLANK. The idea is for once to not only present results of creativity, but to look behind the scenes of the creative processes.

For the last three days, ABSOLUT Vodka hosted the ABSOLUT BLANK Atelier in Munich. GOMMA, Mirko Borsche, Apparat & Nackt, Bompas & Parr, as well as Styleclicker & Ayzit Bostan were invited for this new creative expedition. The creatives are asked to start with absolutely nothing, a blank canvas, and the show the entire process from finding the idea to creating the final artwork.

GOMMA and Borsche from Germany research what role coincidence plays in creativity. British artist duo Bombas and Parr look at the role of food in creativity. Berlin musicians Apparat and Nackt research the creativity crisis and how an exciting new song can result from it and blogger Styleclicker and designer Ayzit Bostan show how you can overcome the fear of a blank page. The ABSOLUT bottle has been a blank page for many artists over the years, starting with none other than Andy Warhol a long time ago. Taking a behind the scenes look at the creation process of creatives around the world and especially looking at realistic and real world challenges that everybody has to fight with, makes this one of the more exciting brand supported projects that we have seen in recent time.

As part of the ASBOLUT BLANK initiative, the brand also unveils exciting new bottle designs. In Munich, the Mario Wagner designed bottle, launching April 1st, was presented.
