Our Radcollector Team is currently in Paris for the Quicksilver Skate Demo, a large event organized in collaboration with Tony Hawk, featuring the art of Parisian artist André all over. We already showed you the Quiksilver surfboards that the artist painted some time ago. Keep an eye on Radcollector for up to date reporting of the event. They already give some nice previews here and here.

The “It Ain’t Fair 2009″ exhibition brings together the O.H.W.O.W. artist community, featuring over 40 artists, as a group exhibition. Stages, a collaborative exhibition organized by Nike Sportswear and Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong organisation, will hit its third stop in Miami, after starting in Paris and recently opening in New York City. Last but not least the legendary Max Fish bar from Downtown New York will be opening up in Miami during Art Basel. Taking over a functioning bar space in downtown Miami, the team will be recreating an art installation out of the core elements of the Lower East Side location and importing it’s colorful cast of characters for the week. With a prime location downtown Miami, it will most definitley be the common meeting point for Art Basel attendees and act as the main clubhouse for all of the creative community during the fair week. A full lineup of live bands and dj’s will be performing nightly during ther week as well as movie screenings in an outdoor space.

For several weeks already the Neckface solo show “Devil’s Diciple” at the O.H.W.O.W. space in Miami has been announced with creations of the artist being placed around the city. With much anticipation the show opened yesterday and we can already give you an extensive recap of the exhibition.

The show offers the most extensive look at the artist’s work to date. From paintings to sculptures and installations, Neckface worked on a large and impressive line-up for Devil’s Diciple. The artist also used his own hair on a sculpture and some of his family was hiding in a house created by the artist to scare the invited guests upon entrance, making the exhibition a real experience. Also a giant skatepark has been integrated into the exhibition, with everything covered in Neckface tags. One can definitely say that no artist before Neckface made such good use of the space that the gallery offers.

Neckface makes a big step in his artistic career with Devil’s Diciple and we already look forward to see his work in the future. Should you be in Miami in the near future, make sure to pass by.

Illustrative is the leading international forum for contemporary illustration and graphic arts. Every year at two different creative cities around the world, the exhibition displays an inspiring collection of current illustrative und graphical art with over 600 works from more than 60 artists.

Last night Illustrative opened its doors in Berlin and once again presented a strong set of works from artists from all around the globe. Participants this year included Keiichi Tanaami, Eva Haan, Jon Casey, Edwin Ushiro, Aya Kato, Haroshi, Edward Sandberg, Olaf Hajek, Martin Haake, Luke Best, Roman Bittner and many more. We visited the exhibition, which was of course super crowded on opening night, but nevertheless you get a good idea of what to expect. Illustrative is still running for a couple of days and we can only suggest that you pass by.

Be prepared for a good mixture of Cali Love and southern hospitality as 10.Deep brings Fool’s Gold Record’s newest signee Donnis to the Golden State. This West Coast swing starts Oct 16th in LA with 10.Deep and Donnis flooding Fairfax’s fitted emporium Hall of Fame with music and beer. The performance will be followed by a swanky after-party at the Sofitel’s Stone Rose.

Oct 17th the event moves to the trolley tracked city of San Fran for a show and celebration at Milk Bar. All events will feature an all-star line-up of DJs and gift bags will be given out, also featuring the new 10.Deep x Donnis tee, that you see here above. The t-shirt will also be released on October 16th in the 10.Deep online store.

The Inoue Brothers worked with photographer Nicholas Taylor on an exclusive clothing range of discharge printed t-shirts, Lacoste polos, Ralph Lauren Polo sweats, Pendleton Woolen Mills shirts and Levi’s and Wrangler denim jackets all adorned with never before seen photos of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

“In New York 1970 musician and photographer Nicholas Taylor meets Jean-Michel Basquiat who invited Nicholas and Vincent Gallo to join his band band Gray. Andy Warhol calls them “possibly the best band on the planet”. Nick photographs Basquiat during their crazy years in NY…”

Each garment also has a written message originally drawn from Nick’s diary during his time with Basquiat. This collection is available exclusively at Dover Street Market from October 10th, 2009.

Force of Nature use the urn as a symbol for recognition of death as a part of life, and a reminder to enjoy and live our life while we have it. Last Friday, October 2nd 2009 FoN opened “The Urn Show” exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark where 15 Danish and international artists and designers decorated a traditional blank urn. The artists include Bigfoot, Andrew Schoultz and Henrik Vibskov (all pictured above) just to name a few. For a full list of artist and to bid on an urn vist Lauritz.com. All proceeds going to Drivkraeften a youth department of the Danish Cancer Treatment, with a focus on activities and contact amongst young people with cancer. Show runs until October 23, 2009.

This time teams including Nike Sportswear, Bread & Butter, Pain O Chokolat, BKRW, Wood Wood, Vans and others will be competing at the PX (Pigalle & XBerg) Tournament in Berlin. Berlin lost in Paris in the final and are eager to win back the trophy. Aside from the games there will also be some good food and three DJ’s providing music. Quiksilver is hosting an eight day skateboarding event at 201 Mulberry in NYC beginning Saturday, August 22nd. They’ve teamed up with Autumn NYC to present a pop-up mini-ramp and shop open to public everyday from 11AM-7PM. There are also three events over the course of the week, including an art show hosted by Alex Olson and a mini-ramp contest hosted by Jake Johnson. If you are anywhere near NYC you should definitely check it out. Quiksilver does it right with air conditioning and free admission. Runs from August 22nd through to August 29th.
