Mishka x Major Lazor

Mishka x Major Lazor

Today marks the tenth installment of Mishka’s illustrious Keep Watch mixes. From the outset, music has always played a big role in shaping the Mishka brand. With strong ties to various artists, and a creative team that is constantly inspired and influenced by their musical predilections the Keep Watch Mixes have become as much of the Mishka fabric as its seasonal line.

Ten volumes and approximately one year later, the mixes have greatly exceeded all expectations. As a result, they have decided to celebrate the 10th installment in a special way. For their tenth volume, they enlisted the services of electro-reggae-dancehall virtuoso Major Lazer. And to coincide with the special mix, Mishka produced a limited run Major Lazer tee designed by Skinny Digital. Long time supporters of Mishka and often considered family, the t-shirt was a perfect way to compliment the Major Lazer curated mix.

The Major Lazer Keep Watch t-shirt will be made available online and in-store at 350 on Monday July 27th.

Download the entire mix here.

Detailed images of the t-shirts follow after the jump.

Duck Sauce is new musical collaboration between DJ A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, blending classic disco house with modern day production thump, (and apparently hollering at ducks.) Duck Sauce’s 4 track “Greatest Hits” EP is slated for a September release, but the 2 main tracks “aNYway” and “You’re Nasty” will be making their rounds this summer with Beatport DJs worldwide. A-Trak is excited to see how this one grows, and quite frankly so are we.

Check the behind the scenes interview to hear the duo talk about their influences, techniques and awesome name.

Mishka x Fucked Up T-Shirt

Mishka gets together with Canadian hardcore band Fucked Up on a collaborative t-shirt. Being mutual fans and supporters of each other’s works, the Mishka design team worked closely with Fucked Up front man Damian “Pink Eyes” Abraham to ensure the shirt signified everything they love about Mishka and New York.  Both Mishka and Abraham threw caution to the wind taking Milton Glasser’s timeless “I Love New York “ design and fusing it with the well known logos of both Mishka and Fucked Up.

The special t-shirt will be released at The Pool Partiesʼ Fucked Up show on Sunday July 12th, which is being held at the East River Skate Park. Damian’s going to be chucking them from the stage! Then look for an Mishka in-store and online release the following Monday, July 13th.

Check out the second colorway of the Mishka x Fucked Up T-Shirt after the jump.

Drake “Best I Ever Had” Video Directed by Kanye West

03 July 2009, 14.33 | Posted in Music | 2 comments »

Toronto based rapper Drake has released his debut music video for the hit single “Best I Ever Had.” Directed by Kanye West, the video strays somewhat from the lyrical subject matter, but with a recent signing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money record label, it’s safe to say things are only looking up from here.
