Once again Japanese brand visvim has released a new boot from its Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. The Virgil Cantor-Folk Boots come with an Italian vegetable tanned cowhide upper, natural cork footbed, a hand-stitched welt construction and of course a cusstom Vibram outer sole. Overall the boots come in 4 colorways and should be available from retailers in the coming weeks.

There’s no doubt that you have seen your fair share of news pertaining to the Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtip, but for good reason: it’s a very interesting piece of footwear, whether you like them or not. This time around, we present to you a few more colors that were not shown in our previous post in regards to these shoes. We recall in December or 2010 when Nike Sportswear’s Jarrett Reynolds wore a saddle shoe that featured a lunar outsole, so it was no surprise seeing the popular sole unit make its way onto a dressier style of shoe. In case you missed the release info, these drop on February 10 at Cole Haan SoHo, 128 Prince Street, New York for $248.

Check out this interesting take on the classic Clarks Wallabees. This Wallabee Race shoe is a slip on version of the popular shoe. Here we see it available in two great colors: sand and macara. The shoes are comprised of a rich suede and they feature a crepe sole based with natural latex for grip. These are available now at the Clarks.

We recently showed you an in depth look at Dr. Martens Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and amongst those pictured was the Alfred Brogue. It was clearly one of the best shoes in what is a very impressive array of footwear. Here is a further look at that particular shoe here. Previewed a while ago, the time has finally come – soon the collaboration between uniform experiment and Clarks Originals on the iconic Wallabee will hit retailers. The mid top boot comes in beige and navy suede options, featuring a uniform experiment logo placed on the heel and on a special hangtag. Look out for a drop very soon.

For Spring/Summer 2012, SOPHNET once again teamed up with visvim on some footwear. This season they present the Logan Canvas VD in three colorways and the Americana Deck VD in several colors. Both feature premium leathers and canvas on the upper and as usual we like a lot what SOPHNET does on visvim silhouettes, adding more regular outer soles to the shoes.

Oi Polloi was bestowed with a wonderful opportunity to work with Clarks on these Wallabees. The UK-based retailer thought long and hard about how to rework such a classic shoe and their solution was to use “Unicorn Leather.” By the name “Unicorn Leather”, they mean this:

the name given to elk hides by the specialist tannery tasked with producing the raw materials.

The end result of the utilization of this leather is 2 superb Wallabees in Dijon and Wasabi colors. Both colors are fantastic for Spring/Summer and look to be a must buy. If you feel the same way, head over to Oi Polloi’s web store to pick these up.

Today we take a closer look at the much talked about Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtip. The Nike Lunar outer sole has become very popular over the last year and we all know what has happened with the classic Wingtip Brogue ever since the heritage trend really hit us. Putting the two together seems like the right next thing to do.

Our opinions are split on t he shoe. Never having been a big fan of hybrids, we do understand the thinking and even the ideas behind the new silhouette – offering a classic, yet comfortable, shoe with a nice twist. Only time will tell how successful the shoe will end up being. Cole Haan being owned by Nike, it is interesting seeing their sharing of technology across the board. We have seen it with AIR before and now Lunar is next.

One of the most popular boots from visvim comes back for Spring/Summer 2012. The Grizzly Boots Mid-Folk return in overall 4 colorways, mixing suede, leather and canvas. As usual the turn-out is impressive and very unique. Look out for the boots at visvim FIL stores from this weekend.

NEXUSVII is offering some splendid footwear with these officer shoes done in collaboration with George Cox. Two very distinct versions of the shoes have dropped each featuring high quality leather construction and unique design details. One is a pebbled leather in black, while the other is a smoothed out version in brown with a black cap toe. Both versions feature a pointed star at the toe, too.
