Japan will be in for a Holiday season treat from Casio this December as the G-Shock GB-6900 smartphone compatible watches will be coming out. Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and available in some solid color choices such as black, red, and white, the GB-6900 also boasts some other nice features.

Features include automatic location based time adjustment and notification of incoming calls and emails on your phone by way or an alarm or vibration that can be deactivated simply by tapping the timepiece.

Swiss watchmakers Romain Jerome has announced a partnership with DeLorean Motor Company to create some interesting timepieces, inspired by the iconic car. The motor manufacturer of the legendary DMC-12 car that featured in the the iconic 1985 film ‘Back to the Future’ will merge their car’s DNA with Romain Jerome’s watches. The end products will all share the core Romain Jerome’s philosophy of honoring fascinating events and items from our history with timepieces that contain trace amount of items from those events. In this case, the watches are said to contain sheet metal from the original car bodies. Stay tuned for upcoming news.

Each watch from London-based Mr. Jones uniquely displays time as an ‘idea.’ For example, the time on the Last Laugh Tattoo edition is displayed on the skull’s teeth – the upper jaw shows the hours and the lower the minutes. The watch features specially commissioned artwork by British Tattoo Artist Adrian Willard who says:

“The design comes from the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. The festival focuses on gathering to remember friends and family who have died. Many gifts and offerings are handed out including sugar skulls that are given to both the living and the dead. It has become a very popular image in the tattoo world over the years and has replaced the regular skull in the mainstream tattoo trends”.

Something of interest for athletes, Garmin has unveiled its Forerunner 910XT all-in-one GPS-enabled device. Designed to track distance, speed, pace, elevation and heart rate, the 910XT makes for perfect companion when swimming, biking and running. The sleek design enables the user to slide wetsuits off and on with ease, making for smooth transitions in and out of the water. Those paying attention to the Triathlon World Championship can catch a glimpse of it there as it is set to be utilized during the event on October 8th.

Feiyue has partnered with Casio to create a package that mates vintage with modernity. The Feiyue retro A.S model, is adorned with characteristics of the classic Casio Illuminator, while Casio presents a watch engraved in the colors of both brands. For men , the “silver” box consists of a pair of mid-grey A.S and a silvery watch. Women can purchase a “gold” box consists of a pair of A.S with pastel yellow chevrons and a gold watch. Limited to 200 pairs, this collaboration will be available in selected shops in early December.

Last night Hublot unveiled the 100-piece limited edition Liberty Bang at this year’s ceremony of the Liberty Medal. “This special timepiece is made of a 45 mm black ceramic case and bezel housing an automatic movement. Its black dial features the inspirational words from United States Founding Fathers about The Constitution. The phrases are inscribed through innovative laser technology in the U.S.A. colors of red, white and blue.”
