The latest development in the G-Shock 25th anniversary celebration is this DW-5600 done by Singapore-based sneaker customizer SBTG, for whom this was a childhood dream come true. “My mom bought me a G-shock when I was about seven years old and I immediately felt like the luckiest kid in school. It was a status symbol man.” Taking a simple black base, SBTG printed the face and strap with his trademark star and camo patterns, seen across both his shoes and Royalefam clothing line.

Artist James Jarvis worked on an interesting new film project, entitled “Onwards”. One of his characters is featured in the short movie, running in a non-linear environment.

“I had become interested in the idea of characters that were less referential and more iconic and abstract. I particularly wanted to do something with a potato-headed stick-man that I had been drawing at that time.

The film was inspired by certain personal experiences in running – a favourite run over Blanchland moor in Northumberland, being attacked by a crow in Singapore – and also by the transcendent, almost psychedelic experience of the simple act of running.

Rather than a marketing project inititated by Nike, the film was something proposed and produced by myself, and as such I hope represents a much more equal collaboration with a brand.” Via Amos.

It has been quiet around Surrender in terms of product. They just recently re-opened their Singapore store in a new outfit and now they have released new t-shirts. Some t-shirts come with familiar UNKLE graphics, others were designed by Robert Del Naja. The classics were produced by Fragment in Japan and the Robert Del Naja t-shirts were hand screened in London on custom t-shirt bodies. Bottom line, you can be sure the quality is on point.

After months of renovations, Surrender re-opened their store in Singapore. The interior has received a serious upgrade and the store now has a real premium feel to itself. Kiks TYO will be kicking off their store collaboration series beginning of October. They got together with Limited Edt Singapore and with Capsule Toronto on a Yuko Ishida x Kiks TYO t-shirt. Each store added their own flavor to it. On the Limited Edt. t-shirt, Yuko Ishida is wearing the Limited Edt x New Balance sneaker that recently came out and on the Capsule t-shirt, Yuko Ishida is wearing a Capsule branded bikini.

Royalefam has revealed its latest Fall/Winter 2008 collection called Dead Generals. The line symbolizes the death of an old method and the birth of a new one for the Singapore-based brand. Established 5 years ago by sneaker artist, Mark Ong (SBTG), Royalefam turns the page to a new chapter with what is their most inspired collection to date.
The Dead Generals Edition will consist of a series of custom sneakers, a full range of clothing that will include t-shirts, hoodies, cut & sews and some special pieces that will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The collection will also include a special series of skateboards that is a joint project with Preduce Skateboards out of Thailand.
The Royalefam Fall/Winter 2008 collection will be released this coming October and will be available in selected Royalefam stockists worldwide.

Benny Gold was asked to create a 1 Year Anniversary t-shirt for Singapore store Black Chamber. The design plays with the words of both names. The oil rig is in the shape of a large number 1 to symbolize their first year in business.
