In December, 3sixteen announced a project called Singularities which would tell the stories of passionate city-dwellers who wear our jeans. Filmed with Kellen Dengler, the first three segments of the initiative are now live, showcasing Invisible NYC, The Coffee Foundry and Jahphet Landis of the The Death Set.

“One significant thing to note about the Singularities project is that it’s not done yet. The fourth and final segment has been left open,” and they’re taking submission until April 1st. For more information on how to apply check 3sixteen’s site.

New York brand 3sixteen will be launching a video series in early 2011, entitled Singularities. The concept is as follows -

Ever since we launched our jean collection in 2008, we’ve met lots of interesting customers along the way. Because our jeans start out raw and age uniquely to each wearer’s habits and lifestyle, we’re never short on inspiration as people share with us the places our jeans have traveled to and the work that’s been done in them over the years.

We decided that some of these fascinating stories needed to be heard, so we collaborated with longtime friend and director Kellen Dengler to produce Singularities, a series of videos that highlight some of the unique individuals who wear our jeans and the work that they do. In getting to know them, we’ve developed a deep appreciation for the attention to detail and commitment to quality that they apply to their particular craft. We hope that our vignettes accurately communicate their singularities to you: the facets of their personality which allow them to raise the bar in their respective industries.

New York brand 3sixteen presents the lookbook of their new Fall/Winter 2010 Collection. The lookbook provides first looks at the new items for the season, including some beautiful melton wool pieces, outerwear, as well as the staples of the collection. Shot by Vincent Tsang in New York, the brand continues to strengthen their foundation in contemporary menswear.

3sixteen and Self Edge have come together to design a collection of jeans. For the first release they have two fits made up of a beautiful rope dyed Japanese double red-line selvedge denim. The denim on these jeans has a deep indigo shade and is slightly on the abrasive side and is sure to yield a great aged look with normal wear. The collaborative sub-line of denim by the New York brand and the retailer, is now available from Self Edge New York and Self Edge San Francisco and online.

3sixteen adds two new casual shirts to their lineup for spring. “Our Hunting Shirt is a new silhouette that features front patch pockets with single button front cape closures. The material is a rinsed black chambray with a soft hand. Our Utility Shirt features classic workwear detailing: asymmetrical cuffs, a crossed back yoke and tab collar, and front pockets with self fabric strap closures to hold the flaps down. The ringspun slub denim material used on this shirt has a soft, washed feel.” Both fit slim, are made in the good ol’ US of A, and can be purchased here.

3sixteen reveals three brand new ties for the Spring. Featured in a nice plaid assortment, each tie is made of lightweight cotton and handmade in NYC. For this weekend only (2/12-2/15 at noon EST) they will be taking pre-orders on these ties at a special price of $60 (regular price is $77). All tie preorders will ship promptly on March 1st.

New York brand 3sixteen presents their new Spring 2010 Collection. The lookbook was shot at the new Ace Hote New York, which perfectly reflects the style of the brand.

“Our Spring 2010 range continues our focus on supporting domestic businesses. Shirting fabrics are sourced and sewn together in New York along with our handmade ties. Leather for our footwear comes from the world-famous Horween Tannery in Chicago and is then assembled in Maine. Selvedge denim is flown in from Japan and expertly assembled with heavy duty hardware here in the US.”

The new 3sixteen Spring 2010 Collection will be released at premium retailers in February 2010.

Our friends from 3sixteen present the second entry of “A Day With 3sixteen.” Filmed on November 10th, 2009, Sarah Krusen tailed the NY-based brand for a day as they went about their tasks and captured a work day at 3sixteen from her perspective. Enjoy!

3sixteen has released a new collaborative Deck Chukka with Quoddy Trail. Done in a Navy Chromexcel leather from Chicago’s famed Horween Tannery, with full leather-lining, full leather vamp, nickel eyelets, and a handsewn lock-stitched tip and kicker. Handmade in Maine. Available from 3sixteen.

We cannot emphasize enough how impressed we are every season with the development of New York brand 3sixteen. The growth of the collection in recent seasons feels very organic and at the right pace. The latest pieces to be added to the collection are a blazer, a duffel coat, a stadium jackets, as well as some shirts and accessories, including ties and scarfs. The scarfs are crafted from 100% Woolrich wool, the ties are 100% silk and handmade in New York. The new jackets are also all US made, ensuring a high quality level. Compared to previous collections, the new line definitely seems to come with higher pricing, which fits the look of the brand though. All new pieces are now available in the 3sixteen online store.
