San Diego based brand 5&A Dime worked with Japan’s 7Union on this east meets west military fitted cap. The design is inspired by the U.S.S. Midway, a US Naval aircraft carrier that was stationed in Yokosuka Japan for 17 years and subsequently returned to the San Diego Bay for decommissioning. The aircraft imagery is accompanied by a rising sun on the under bill and comes in 3 colorways: black, navy, and purple. Only 72 of these hats will be available in the US, 24 in each color. 15 caps will pre-release Tuesday, October 13th at 12:01 A.M. online at 5andadime.com, while the remaining hats will be available in store at 5&A Dime on Friday, October 15th. A matching t-shirt is offered in black and white.

The guys at 5&A Dime have produced a series of t-shirts inspired by military aviation. They’ve channeled San Diego’s Navel and Air Force heritage and drawn from actual flying squadrons – historic and current. For the release they’ve created a video look book, shot on site at San Diego’s Flying Leatherneck Museum.
