686 and Scion are pleased to introduce the world’s first and only car solely dedicated to snowboarding, “Numeric”. Built for snowboarders by snowboarders, the car is the caveat in the 20th anniversary celebration for 686.

686 teamed up with Scion Racing and Spin Imaging to develop the one-of-a-kind custom winter masterpiece. The Numeric is based off of Scion’s xB model. Never before has a car been re-created, re-developed and re-invigorated in such a unique manner. Each aspect of the build was directly inspired from a product and brand that’s progressively pushed snowboarding to new levels.

Each involved brand brought a unique twist to Numeric’s look. The snow specific tires reflect NB686 snowboarding boots and are branded as New Balance tires. The top of the car is designed like a Bern protective carbon fiber helmet, complete with their patented brim technology. The windshield is designed from Dragon’s APX frameless goggle and offers full peripheral view inside the car. The Sparco modified seats are inspired from actual Union team snowboard bindings and are constructed in a high-back cup shaped form. The sound system is engineered and designed by the Skullcandy team, which used their premiere Aviator headphones as inspiration. GoPro came in with their POV expertise in visual racing mirrors and interior mapping. Vestal watches and their ZR-3 Chronograph inspired the custom built time gauges. The devil is in the details and Freewaters sandals clearly did this in the first ever heated floor mats. BOA Technology added their “dialed” in fit to the cars heating and cooling system. Recco Avalanche Rescue systems supplied their sophisticated radar technology on the road and mountain terrain. Blind skateboards legendary artist, Marc Mckee provided his custom touch to the interior panels. To finalize the winter shred story, 686’s technical textile background pushed manufacturing boundaries by successfully wrapping the world’s first and only fully functional waterproof and breathable snowboarding outerwear vehicle, complete with stitched panels, laser welded seams, waterproof zipper and mesh venting.

And the list just goes on. The amount of details that went into the car are simply incredible. The action sports industry will get its first look at the vehicle in the 686 booth at SIA in Denver from January 26-29, 2012.

Snowboard brand 686 continues to work with New Balance and presents a new collaborative line for Fall/Winter 2011-12. Today we present the 580 sneaker from the collection this season.

Featuring a mixed material upper and double branding on the toe box, the toe box velcro strap is what sets this sneaker apart from every other New Balance 580 release in the past.

686 presents their new Spring 2011 Collection, entitled ‘The Landscape’. Next to some solid shirts, denim and t-shirts, the brand also presents New Era caps and New Balance sneakers this season. Check out the preview video here below.

The New Balance x 686 product fit in better than ever this round of Agenda, as they kicked off their first ever Agenda Snow last week in Anaheim Continuing on with new sneakers and snowboard boots for Fall 2011, the above V74 sneaker stood out to us in ripstop nylon and an all-new rubber toe cap. Matching 580s and more can be seen in our gallery.

For the Holiday 2010 season, 686 continues their exclusive partnership with Levi’s on both men’s and women’s outerwear.

We’ve taken real denim and denim-inspired fabrications to new technical heights in an array of jacket and pant ensembles. Our custom 686® x Levi’s® products feature 686’s waterproof/breath- able attributes with Levi’s® details like contrast stitching accents, shank buttons, metal rivets and the infamous patented back pocket “arcuate” (pronounced Ar-q-it) stitching and red tab combination, all of which have never been done before.

Next to New Balance, 686 also worked with Suicidal Tendencies on a capsule collection for Holiday 2010. The line-up includes a snowboard jacket, a hoodie, two t-shirts and a New Era mesh cap, all featuring iconic artwork. Look out for the product in stores now.

The collaboration between 686 and New Balance continues into Holiday 2010. This season they once again collaboration on a series of product, including the New Balance 580, New Balance 790 and the New Balance V74 sneakers. Furthermore they worked on two snowboard boots, inspired by the 580 and 790 sneakers and a matching snowboarding jacket. An interesting feature on the New Balance 580 is the added lace strap. All product comes with dual branding and should be getting into stores soon.

New Balance showed the latest release in their ongoing collaboration with 686 at Agenda Huntington Beach. On offer are both sneakers and snowboard boots in 3 complimentary color packs, as well as 3 exclusive hightop colors in the V74 – a vulcanized version of the iconic 574. Watch for a release at finer snowboard shops this winter.
