One of our favorite menswear designers, Adam Kimmel, has come out with a light blue-grey desert boot in velvet. Details include two lace-up front with dark metal eyelets, a textured rubber sole with a low heel and visible stitching at the top of the sole. Now in stock at Browns. We take a first look at the Adam Kimmel Spring/Summer 2011 footwear offering. Most of you should have seen the Paris presentation by now, which was once again something out of the ordinary. The sneakers for Spring/Summer 2011 go in the same direction as the collection presentation. The designer worked on mid tops, featuring little branding and an overall clean look.

After presenting you yesterday the Adam Kimmel Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, we give you a closer look at one product that was on showcase at his collection presentation in Paris. The designe will be releasing New Era fitted caps as part of his new collection. The caps come with raised embroideries on the front, mostly inspired by car parts. A New Era cap in general might not be anything special, yet in the context of an Adam Kimmel collection it comes with surprise.

Most of you should know by now that designer Adam Kimmel is always ready for a surprise, especially when it comes to his collection presentations. With much anticipation we headed to the presentation early evening tonight in Paris and once again we got the unexpected.

Located in a typical Parisian courtyard in the heart of the Marais district, the designer put a tuned vintage American car, loud rap and hip hop together with his upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The scene was just incredible. The models were very well chosen, perfectly matching the setup and the musical background. From early 20th century gangster inspired clothing to streetwear, one could find pretty much everything in there.

We like the use of unusual materials on classic pieces. Adam Kimmel has released a velvet desert boot, which makes for an interesting combination. The sleek material is being used on a boot, which usually only comes with suede and leather. The boot is now available at colette.

Adam Kimmel continues to offer some nice footwear in his collections. For Spring/Summer 2010 he presents a canvas boot in navy and a calf suede boot in beige. Both feature some nice perforated details on the toe box and are now available at colette.

For the occasion of Jim Krantz’s “Moments within a Moment” exhibition, that is currently hosted at colette in Paris, designer Adam Kimmel has created two shirts. The shirt comes in white cotton and in denim, features a large “K” on the back with “colette rider” embroidered below. The large Adam Kimmel logo embroidery on the front chest pocket seems a little unnecessary.

Once again designer Adam Kimmel gets creative. Just a couple of months ago he worked with Ari Marcopoulos on a video feature, with two skaters riding down hill in his clothing. This latest video sees champion bull rider Rocky McDonald ride a bull in one of Adam Kimmel’s suits. Once again a creative approach to present his clothing in a new environment.

Adam Kimmel continues to surprise with his lookbook shoots. Today we get a look at his Fall/Winter 2009 Collection and this time the downtown New York scene, lead by A-Ron the Downtown Don, took part in the photoshoot.
