By now the first 5 silhouettes from the Ransom x adidas collection have arrived at retailers around the world. Here’s a final look into the drop of The Pier, Valley, Summit, Dune and Creek, by way of the official release at Toronto’s Ransom Holding Co. flagship store that took place on October 31st, 2009. “Go forth onto the never ending path”.

The World Champion Los Angeles Lakers begin their 2009-2010 season tonight along with the ring ceremony and banner raising acknowledging their 15th NBA Championship. To commemorate this moment, adidas Originals is releasing a special edition metallic gold and purple Superstar. The shoe will be available beginning on November 1st at the following retail locations: Undefeated, NBA Store, LA Lakers Team Shop, adidas Originals Store Melrose, adidas Originals Chicago, adidas Performance Store Santa Monica, adidas Performance Store Chicago and online at shopadidas.com.

We already presented to you the black colorway of the Gore-Tex infused Tokyo Low from the adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2009 OT Tech Collection. Here comes now the blue colorway. It comes with different blue tones on the upper and white/black details. The mid-sole comes in light grey, the lining in a lighter blue. The sneaker features a Gore-Tex lining, making sure your feet stay dry and warm this Fall. Look out for a release in the coming weeks.

A while ago we gave you a detailed look at the adidas Originals Five-Two 3 Project Stone Island Samba. The Italian brand translated the principles of their brand onto the sneaker with an interesting outcome. Today we show you a blue colorway of the sneaker, that will probably never release. It features the same characteristics as the production model, using a zipper, several logo placements and upper material that Stone Island produced for the shoe.

UPDATE: We just got an update from adidas about the shoe. This is actually not an unreleased colorway, but an in-store exclusive for Stone Island flagship stores. So, look out, as these will actually be released in even more limited quantities than the other colorway!

The signature shoe of several time world tennis champion, and still legendary George ‘Rod’ Laver, the adidas Rod Laver has been a mainstay for the brand, and now a central part of the Originals range since its 1970 launch. The key to its success? Utter simplicity. In line with court decorum and regulations of the era, the famous 3-Stripes were shorn for this shoe, and the purity of the Rod Laver set something of a standard for sneaker design – the move to pare down the corporate identity and let the silhouette do the talking is a landmark move too.

Beyond favourite colour combinations like the traditional white and green, the material mix of leather and mesh kept things breathable and lightweight without compromising looks. This bare bones approach gave the shoe an ageless quality. A follow-up, wider, chunkier in the sole and with added midsole and heel branding became another icon and a worldwide Summer standard, notably deified in NYC as the timeless hot weather choice.

Almost forty years after the original design’s introduction, it’s back in a tweaked form, retaining its iconic classicism for an ambitious adidas Originals Consortium project.  Nine global Consortium partners, each famed for their innovative approach to retail, were given the Rod Laver to rework with their choice of colours, fabrics and more for release in extremely limited numbers at Consortium stores throughout August and September 2009.

We present you the first drop of the project, consisting of collabortions with DQM, Undefeated, Limiteditions and VA.

With the support of adidas Originals, Alexander Gnädinger recently launched his book “100 Girls on Polaroid.” The Polaroids show something that is hard to find in times of digital photography: unaltered reality. The photographer captured the 100 girls how they naturally see themselves and how they want to be seen – what you see is what you get. The project was launched at No74 in Berlin during an exhibition showcasing Women’s archive shoes from like the Adria Jeans from 1978 to a adidas for Yohi Yamamoto shoe from 2001. ”100 Girls on Polaroid” is 476 pages long and features 250 photos, with a cover made of original polaroid cartons. Through August, the book will be available exclusively at No74 and internationally from September on.

After seeing some exciting sample images, we now have a brief look at the full Ransom x adidas Originals Collection. Based on iconic cultural references that blend the Ransom brand’s Northern heritage with the market leading know-how of adidas Originals, the extensive collection of all-new models was inspired by heritage brands such as Sorel, Red Wing, and the vintage workwear idea. With a mixture of bold monotone and muted monotones in the collection, the color palette represents Ransom’s fall direction. We also see plenty of attention to detail throughout, with stitching and embossed logos. Models include the Creek, Pier (pictured above,) Dune, Valley, and Summit – making for a great mixture of casual and more rugged styles that work well in the current sneaker world. This is definitely one of the most interesting projects of the year and we can’t wait to have a more detailed look.

Here we present four new pieces of apparel from the adidas Originals Tokyo collection.  This upcoming pack features two reversible Track Tops, a reversible hooded sweater and a light woven windbreaker jacket. Each item includes details which are inspired by Tokyo streetwear culture, such as full-zip hoods, extended length front zippers and customized patch applications. These items are set to drop this August, but are now available for pre-booking at Hanon-Shop.

After announcing this collaborate project between Ransom and adidas Originals yesterday, we can give you a first look at one of the boots of the collection today. It seems like the entire collection will be heavily outdoors inspired, giving adidas an interesting new customer and Ransom its very own footwear line. Via T.Dotty.

An interesting project will be revealed very soon between Ransom and adidas Originals. The on-going collaborative project will present a line of outdoor inspired footwear, made to withstand a rugged lifestyle.
