highsnobiety - Sam Flores x Upper Playground x Adidas Originals
This Thursday, August 7th, marks the release of the Sam Flores adidas Originals sneaker for Upper Playground. This is the final installment of the four-part series and the first hi-top sneaker in the collection. Other artists involved in the project include Herbert Baglione, David Choe, and Aesop Rock.
Fifteen years after first arriving on the West Coast from New Mexico, Sam Flores, an art school evacuee and self-taught illustrator, has established his place in the modern art movement as a master of fine art and product design. His fine artwork carries a voice and vision that is instantly identifiable. Flores’ artistic quality is unpretentious and provocative, and demands consideration without categorization.
When asked about his vision for his adidas hi-top sneaker, Flores commented: “I simply wanted to make a colorful bright shoe that would go well with the warm weather. I made it blue, grey and pink so it can work for both genders. Plus it’s something you can wear to Miami and stay up for three days and still look fresh!”
Sam Flores has collaborated with Upper Playground on numerous projects. He is currently working on producing two new vinyl figures with the company including one for Upper Playground’s 10-year anniversary.
There are only 500 pairs of the Sam Flores sneaker available worldwide. Each pair retails for $150 and sizes range from men’s size 4 to 13.5. To get your hands on the Sam Flores adidas hi-top, visit www.upperplayground.com or head to a UP retail store. The sneaker will go on sale online at 8 am PT on Thursday, August 7, 2008.

highsnobiety - herbert baglione for upper playground and adidas
This Thursday, July 17th, marks the release of the new Herbert Baglione adidas Originals sneaker from Upper Playground. This is the first sneaker in the four-part series.

Hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, acclaimed fine artist Baglione is highly respected and recognized within the industry as well as throughout South America and Europe. He is known for his strong minimalist and simplistic approach to painting. According to Baglione, the basis of his work is addressing the coldness and competitiveness present in people. He likes to be ironic about things such as individuality and death, and the paths chosen to either achieve these experiences or distance oneself from it.
To get your hands on the Herbert Baglione adidas Originals sneaker, visit a UP retail store on Thursday, July 17th or you can order your pair online beginning at 8 am PT on Thursday.

Adidas Original Denim by Diesel

Adidas Original Denim by Diesel
Already a while ago we announced the upcoming collaboration by Adidas Original and Diesel on a denim collection. The collection will be released this Spring season and finally we can show you what the line-up will look like.
The denim comes both washed and raw in black and indigo colors, some washed pieces also with further customization. The Adidas logo appears on the back tag, the side, the bottom of the denim and also some rivets have been replaced with the Adidas logo. All in all a pretty complete denim line with rather subtle branding. The Diesel logo appears on the front pocket as usual. On one side we prefer this collaboration over what Puma did with Evisu, simply because the collection is more subtle and concentrates on the denim and the washes rather than the branding. On the other side, the question is, if people want denim with Adidas branding? It’s not exactly a sign of quality for denim. We will see, once they land in store. Pics via Adifans.
After the jump many more pictures.
