During Paris Fashion Week we passed by the adidas Originals showroom, where designer Jeremy Scott was showcasing his new Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. We talked to Scott about inspiration, his design process, and the way he likes his product to be worn. We also get a little preview of his upcoming Spring/Summe 2012 Collection. Enjoy!

adidas Originals and Noel Gallagher team up on the Trainer 72 sneaker. Being a long time adidas collector, Gallagher was inspired by his personal archive for the sneaker, which comes in white leather with royal blue Stripes and gold foil print detail on the tongue. The collaborative Training 72 NG’s release will coincide with the release of the debut album from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds which will hit stores in the UK on October 17.

Electronic Arts and adidas Originals today announced a lifestyle and gaming partnership for Need for Speed™ The Run. Consumers will not only see the adidas Superstar shoes in Need for Speed The Run, but they will also release a limited edition Need for Speed The Run adidas branded apparel and sneakers, which will be available at all adidas Originals stores across the United States.

The Need for Speed The Run and adidas Originals promotional events kick-off on October 12th in Chicago. 50 pairs of the limited edition Need for Speed The Run Top X shoe will go on sale October 10 at the adidas Originals Chicago store. The first ten consumers to purchase a pair will get a ticket to the exclusive kick-off event at the store on October 12th, headlined by DJ Neil Armstrong and Kids These Days.

The next event will be in San Francisco on October 27 at the adidas San Francisco store. An additional 50 pairs of the limited edition shoe will go on sale October 22 at the store. The first 20 consumers to purchase a pair will get a ticket to the exclusive event at the store on October 27 headlined by Mick Boogie. It all culminates in New York on November 15 to celebrate the game’s launch.

adidas will relaunch its limited edition Consortium sneaker range for Holiday 2011. Rather than bursting back onto the scene with yet another collaboration or ‘in your face’ colors and materials, adidas chose to take a more subtle and thoughtful route.

At first glance the Three Stripes present an all white pack. Well thought through, branding has been kept very minimal and adidas concentrated on producing high quality versions of its classic sneaker assortment. “The finest pig skin, nubuck and goatskin is embellished with waxed laces, metal aglets and the use of a heavier gauge thread, which gives the shoes a more luxurious hand-crafted feel. Inside, the lining has also been stripped back, highlighting their raw essence.”

The outcome is certainly very clean and in line with current trends. Is winter the best time to release an all white sneaker pack? We are not sure. Also, while we appreciate the attempt at high quality and timeless sneakers, we cannot say that the pack convinces us. What do you think?

The new adidas Consortium range consists of 5 adidas sneakers and will release November 26th, 2011.

Have you guys seen the new adidas Laces R&D building? If not here is a look at the Kada Wittfield Architecture designed structure that is now up and running at corporate headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The name “Laces” pertains to the design of the building in which walkways within the building connect and criss-cross with each other in a networked pattern. An excerpt from the press release sheds more light. (Images and info: Collabcubed.)

The building forms a loop. Suspended walkways cross the atrium space, “lacing” the building’s structure together like the laces of a sports shoe. The walkways connect individual departments within the building complex, making for greater proximity and preventing the disruptive effect of people walking through offices.

This week Jeremy Scott was hosting a showroom in Paris during Paris Fashion Week to show his new adidas Originals by Originals Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Of course we passed by to chat with the designer and to have a look at the upcoming collection. Do not expect things to calm down at all – things stay colorful and crazy, just the way his fans like it.

adidas Originals will release a limited edition Campus 80’s sneaker; a world first collaboration with the legendary All Blacks.

Japanese retailer Chapter World will be receiving an exclusive colorway of the Forum Mid this month. The upper is made of black leather and pony hair with leopard all-over print, all sitting on a white/gum outer sole. The sneaker is expected to release October 2011.

adidas Basketball releases its latest commercial to introduce the new Derrick Rose signature shoe – the adiZero Rose 2. Filmed in Madrid, the spot opens with Derrick released from a gate as ”The Bull” to a frenzied crowd in a bullfighting arena.  After sizing up matador and picadors, Derrick drives into the bullring in his signature shoes using his speed, agility and strength to blow by and overpower opponents that represent his real on-court rivals. adidas Originals teams up with Japanese sneaker store Mita. For Fall/Winter 2011 they present a pack of Campus 80s. The sneaker comes in a navy colorway and grey, in both cases featuring suede uppers. The sneaker comes with almost no branding and an overall vintage theme, most apparent on the off-white/yellow outer sole. Mita kept things very classic and clean, making sure to not do too much to the iconic silhouette. Both sneakers are now available from No. 74.
