This spring, Puma is set to continue its love affair of African Football with a unique twist, by launching the celebratory ‘African Cup of Nations pack’.
As the whole of Africa has descended from the dust blow pitches to the bright lights of Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, Ghana; the rest of the footballing world has been transfixed by the sound of beating drums, the dazzling play, the amazing colour and the magical spirit that is African football.
Ghana has played host to the some of the finest footballers on the planet, with the penultimate finals tournament showcasing 9 of the 16 teams, all embracing the Puma brand as their choice of kit. These nations so pure to football are set to lock horns in order to be crowned kings of Africa.
It is only fitting then that as a brand so meshed into the world game, and in particular African football, that we pay homage to these great nations. Taking inspiration from the cult classic ‘PUMA Argentina’ so synonymous with football and the terrace fan, we ingrain all the elements of this iconic football fan shoe with the wild flavours and colours of Africa.
This limited African Cup of Nations pack unleashes the flamboyant Cameroon, the host nation and staunchly proud Ghana, the glitzy attackers from the Ivory Coast and the rock solid Senegal. Quite a line-up and quite a pack.
The complete is now available at Ryouki. Check out the complete pack after the jump.

A classic from back then- the Puma Argentina was a firm favourite on the UK football terraces during the ‘casual’ years of the early eighties. Originally introduced in 1978 as a lightweight court shoe, it paid homage to the winning Argentinean world cup team of the same year. Constructed with a lightweight nylon suede upper its clean cut and simple profile was quickly adopted by the terrace fans as English teams began to dominate on the European football stage.

This latest release replicates the specification of the original style. Back in the ‘Seaport’ colourway of navy and white the upper is constructed in a lightweight nylon material with suede overlays.
