Using the theme of Color, Arkitip have selected a group of artists to create whatever they wish using Comex supplied paint, the culmination of which has been published in a hand numbered edition (of 1500) neatly packaged with a cobranded Comex + Arkitip paint brush.

Along with the printed issue, Arkitip have created a series of Chronicles documenting the artists involved, including Aaron De La Cruz, Anthony Lister and Skypager. The release will be celebrated with installations of the featured artists works at Project Space, Los Angeles.

Arkitip presents its first project with Pendleton Woolen Mills, featuring artist Michael Leon. The artist has designed the first in a series of artistically driven for Pendleton. The outcome is a Pendleton wool blanket, Made in the USA, in an edition of 125. Check out the video here below, narrated by Leon, featuring the final product.

Today we can give you an exclusive first look at the new Incase Curated by Arkitip collection by Korean-born artist Rostarr. Working with each of an iPhone 4 Snap Case, an iPad Convertible Book Cover and a MacBook Pro 15″ Case, Rostarr applied his signature “Graphysics” geometric graphic work for an attractive, functional piece of art in greyscale with orange highlights.

In their latest issue, Arkitip magazine gets together with Swedish brand WeSC and documents the so-called WeActivists, as the brand likes to call it – people that inspire the brand and that have been actively involved in it over the years. We actually do not know of another brand involving designers, artists, skateboarders and other tastemakers in such a pro-active way, making it a very interesting and also natural collaboration more on a friendship than on a business level. The issue features Stash, Mode 2, Yasumasa Yonehara and many others. Furthermore it comes packaged with a fresh pair of WeSC headphones.

This year, along with Bill Clinton and Bono, artist JR was awarded the prestigious TED prize – and now is the focus of the new issue of Arkitip. Today the much anticipated collaboration between Incase and Jose Parla, part of the Curated by Arkitip series, has been released.

“For the eighth installment of Curated by Arkitip, artist José Parlá documents his experiences in calligraphic and palimpsestic code using Incase’s signature protective cases. Today Incase announced their next collaboration from their Curated by Arkitip series. Jose Parla is the next collaborating artist, having worked on some Apple accessories. The product will be released November 16th, so we should have images of the final product in the coming days.

After a first teaser a couple of weeks ago, we present the final product from the collaboration between Arkitip, Incase and C.R. Stecyk.

“The seventh installment of Curated by Arkitip is now available, featuring works by multimedia artist C.R. Stecyk III. From his early work on boards he painted for the Z-Boys to his iconic black and white photography of surf and skate legends, Stecyk is widely acknowledged as a major stylistic influence within graffiti and street art movements.

Stecyk’s work for Curated by Arkitip highlights iconic imagery and color combinations representative of the early days of modern skate and surf culture. The 15″ MacBook Pro Sleeve features an early Stecyk photograph of Jay Adams, one of the original Z-Boys considered a progenitor of modern-day skateboarding. Stecyk’s skull design for the iPhone 3GS Snap Case recalls graffiti art that typified skateboarding in its early days, such as Stecyk’s infamous Pig and Crossbones graffiti piece that became a symbol for the nascent culture’s attitude and style.

In celebration of the release of the Stecyk series, Incase and Arkitip have worked with C.R. Stecyk to produce a limited-edition of 100 signed screen prints of the skull design featured on the iPhone 3GS Snap Case. The prints are available exclusively through Arkitip and at Project Space in Los Angeles located at 603 N. La Brea Avenue.”

Next up in the Curated by Arkitip Incase product range is a collaboration with C.R. Steyck III.

The 15″ C.R. Steyck III Sleeve and iPhone 3GS Snap Cases for Curated by Arkitip will be available on August 17.

Arkitip announces American artist/designer Michael Leon’s first solo exhibition in Germany. The show, entitled “Vexhall,” opens September 2, 2010 at 19:00 and runs until October 1, 2010 at Pool Gallery in Berlin. Watch the teaser video above for a preview of the exhibition.
