Gallery, A.M.P., Picturebox and TV Books with curators Tim Barber, Kathy Grayson, Andreas Melas, Dan Nadel, Pablo de la Barra, Nicola Vassell and Terence Koh.

Aaron Bondaroff, New York City’s “Downtown Don”, brings his expansive community of artists, musicians, and weirdos to IT AIN’T FAIR. The second exhibition in Bondaroff and Al Moran’s groundbreaking O.H.W.O.W. space in the “West of Wynwood” district, this watershed project gets celebrated curators Tim Barber, Kathy Grayson, Andreas Melas, Dan Nadel, Pablo de la Barra, Nicola Vassell and Terence Koh to activate their various teams of artists in a huge multimedia exhibition featuring painting, sculpture, video and performance from artists all over the world with a focus on downtown Manhattan.

Over thirty artists will contribute to this exhibition, including a curated outdoor film series and a nightclub in the adjoining space that will include performances by The Gossip, TV Baby, and JD Samson, just to name a few. A hub of art activity, O.H.W.O.W. will be the first and last place you go each night of this year’s Art Basel Miami.

Thanks to SuperTouch, we are able to offer a look into the Art Basel 2008 show.Art Basel is essentially the largest contemporary art fair out. While the show also hits Miami, these items are from the original Swiss outpost.  We’ve picked a few of our favorites, including some examples from Nike’s Art of Football. All a bit of artistic fun for this years European Cup.

A couple of weeks ago we reported about the Nike 1/1 initiative, which invited artists from around the world to send in their work with a soccer theme. The best ones were chosen to exhibit this year during Art Basel, which is taking place this week.

+41 has created an art installation inspired by the almost religious fanaticism surrounding the beautiful game. Titled “Holygame,” the piece ties together a series of football boots to form a monument to football. As part of the NIKE 1/1 project it was exhibited last week in Milan, and will be mounted again in June for the Art Basel Fair.
A great reminder to prepare for EURO ‘08!

With the soccer championships just around the corner, Nike launched a very interesting new project – Nike 1/1.
Nick Knight was chosen as the curator of the project. He chose 11 established talents in 11 countries in Europe to work with him. These associates invite artists in their countries to submit works on the topic “Art Of Football”. Then Nick Knight and the 1/1 associates select a short list of artists to present works on the topic. The 11 best pieces out of this section are chosen to exhibit in Basel during Art Basel this summer. One final winner will also see his artwork appear on a limited edition series of Nike Dunks and furthermore the best works overall will be published in the 1/1 Art Book.
A great project. We are already curious what the results will be. We will be reporting more in the near future on the project.
