18K Gold Casio x Art Is The Alibi G-Shock DW-6900 | The Quasi

Over the years we have seen many custom works on the iconic Casio G-Shock DW-6900. Pharrell Willimans, Kanye West and Nigo have showed off pimped versions of the watch, usually using heavy metals and stones. One can say that the concept is not entirely new. Jan Mihm and Charlie Müller of Berlin based Art Is The Alibi now also took a shot at the watch. The cover of the case has been removed and replaced with a 18k solid gold cover. The mix of 18k gold and an otherwise rather in-expensive plastic watch has always been intriguing. Obviously the watch does not come cheap – priced at 19′000 Euros (28′000 USD), the watch is limited to 25 pieces and will be exclusively available at colette and also through Art Is The Alibi.

We had the pleasure of checking out the watch live a couple of months ago and the execution and craftsmanship is perfect. If it is worth the price, you have to decide for yourself.

More images of the watch follow after the jump.
