To celebrate the release of their Standard fragrance in collaboration with Comme des Garcons, Artek has created the “10-Unit System” furniture concept together with Shigeru Ban. The furniture concept stands in the window of Dover Street Market in London.

Artek was founded in 1935 with the idea to sell furniture and promote modern culture of habitation through exhibitions and other means. They believed in a grand synthesis of the arts and wanted to make a difference in town planning as well as in architecture and design. Today, Artek is renowned as one of the most innovative contributors to modern design. Their latest release is the STANDARD fragrance in collaboration with Comme des Garcons. “This project was conceived in the pleasant atmosphere of the first Artek and COMME des GARÇONS collaboration in 2007 at CDG’s Dover Street Market and Aoyama stores. The result is a unique product for Artek through an invaluable partnership with an organisation which is always at the forefront of cultural reinvention. The visual aesthetics of the object- STANDARD fragrance- were developed to stand along with Artek’s particular ideology and products”.

The Artek STANDARD Fragrance by Comme des Garcons will be available October 2009 at RS1.
