Chicago’s Leaders 1354 are releasing the latest pieces in a string of solid special editions on June 14th. So far they’ve impressed with their New Eras, and now they move to tees. For the artist series they’ve worked with four local (read Chicago) artists and printed their designs on two colors per artist. So, by match, that’s 4 new styles and 8 color choices. The material ranges from the classic hot girl with covered breasts to a great play on the winners medal. The latter should be a good look come Olympics time. Take a look at the Leaders site in the coming days for bios and info about each represented artist.

Just last week we first reported about the upcoming collaboration by Supreme and cartoonist Sean Cliver. Today we can show you some more images of the collaboration and give you some more background information.
Legendary skateboard artist Sean Cliver was born in 1969 in Wisconsin. At the age of nineteen Sean Cliver noticed an “Artist Wanted” contest in Thrasher Magazine. The company behind the contest was Powell Peralta. Recognizing this as an opportunity of a lifetime, Sean decided to submit his artwork into the contest.

Sean’s artwork was selected as a finalist in the “Artist Wanted” contest and in January of ’89 boarded a flight towards California for an interview with George Powell. Three weeks later Sean Cliver received an offer of full-time employment as an in-house artist for Powell-Peralta.
Feeling that there was a void in a published historical archive of skateboard artwork, Sean decided to author “Disposable: A History Of Skateboard Art”. “Disposable” showcases over 1000 skateboard graphics with assorted recollections from artists and pro skateboarders throughout the past three decades.

This summer Supreme will produce a series of two skateboards with original artwork done by Sean Cliver for Supreme and two original t-shirt designs to coincide with the project release.

Available at the NY/LA stores and online on June 12th. Available in Japan stores on June 14th.

Artist Evan Hecox has released a new screenprint titled "Ghosts Of Winter, Berlin".  It’s 5 color silk screen print on Neenah Environment paper. The print is now available in the Arkitip online store for pre-order and will ship as of June 21rst.

After working with Jeff Koons, Murakami and many other high profile artists, Supreme not got together with Sean Cliver, known for his book of skateboard graphics and also for work in the film industry. With Supreme the artist worked on two t-shirts and two skateboard decks. Always one deck matches one t-shirt.  Via Honeyee.

We present you some impressive custom Vans Slip-Ons and Eras by Japanese artist Toshihiro Egawa. The Japanese artist is a self-studied artist who has been specialising in computer graphics. He became better known outside of Japan also due to his work on jackets for various bands. These Vans sneakers were created for the  “Dia De Los Muertos vol.0" show at PingMag.

A couple of weeks ago we reported about the Nike 1/1 initiative, which invited artists from around the world to send in their work with a soccer theme. The best ones were chosen to exhibit this year during Art Basel, which is taking place this week.

Artist Evan Hecox will soon be releasing a new print at Arkitip. The print comes in his usual style and pictures bikes. The print will be available in the Arkitip online store June 7th.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has also made quite a name for himself int he art scene, as recently reported by us. Here we give you now a preview of an upcoming DC Shoe, that the musician and artist designed. So far we can see that the shoe comes in a green/tan colorway with red accents and features both Mike Shinodas and the DC logoon the tongue and laser engraved graphics on the side panels.

This month, 1134 NYC teams up with NYC Art Toy Brand Thunderdog Studios to release the first ever graffiti based, wall mounted, vinyl toy.
Designed by 1134 NYC members MINT & SERF, this toy features a pure collaboration, merging their styles to form the iconic ‘MIRF’. More of a sculpture than a toy, the 9″ long MIRF is rotary molded in soft-vinyl and made in 4 color-ways, each limited to 200 pieces. The sleek sculpting of the MIRF is accentuated by it’s luxurious packaging which features a slide out box, silver foil and a two sided, flocked, blister tray.
East Coast (Matte) & West Coast (Glossy) editions are set to launch in June, 2008.
