mondo gamma picture show - highsnobiety
Especially abroad, the Munich based label GOMMA enjoys the reputation as one of Germany´s most important music collectives. Besides their progressive music projects, the Gomma Gang has a huge output of visual work, of a diverse aesthetic and visual complexity which goes far beyond being simply artwork for music. Once a year they launch; the postermagazine AMORE, a limited t-shirt collection made in collaboration with BEANS (Tokyo) and MAGNIFIQUE (Los Angeles), and present the annual MONDO GOMMA Picture show, which takes place in a gallery somewhere between Barcelona and Tokyo.

Art directors of GOMMA are MIRKO BORSCHE and THOMAS KARTSOLIS aka SMAL and PAZE. Both have been awarded with several prizes, one of which being the Lead Award Germany in 2007.

Within MONDO GOMMA Picture Show there will be illustrations, music, and artwork exhibited by SMALPAZE with work from the label’s contributing artists and designers.
So far the show has featured artwork by Michael Sailsdorfer, Kostas Murkudis, MUNK, Benjamin Röder, Daniel Josefsohn and The Rammellzee. Previous years events have been held in Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona and last year in Tokyo, where Berlin based magazine 032C curated an exhibition showcasing five European Newcomers: the GOMMA universe was shown alongside Jonathan Meese, Amelie von Wulfen and Marc Brandenburg.

The next issue of AMORE poster magazine will be released in June 2008. As it’s regular feature it will include 24 broadsheet posters designed by SMALPAZE. For this issue, the role of "special guest" illustrator is taken up by the Australian MISHA HOLLENBACH aka PERKS. He and his girlfriend Mini, form the Melbourne based design- and fashion collective PAM, which in the last couple of years has emerged as a leading name in New Illustration. In Japan the collective’s name is revered to an almost cult like status.

The Pool Gallery is proud to present the MONDO GOMMA Picture Show No. 5. During the opening the new AMORE Magazine will be launched.
The exhibition opened yesterday and will run until July 7th. We passed by and can give you a detailed look at the works by both Misha Hollenback and Smal & Paze.

transworld brain floss x benny gold new era caps - highsnobiety
Introduced in the 90s as an extension of the “Skate And Create” theme of Transworld SKATEboarding magazine, the monthly Brain Floss feature focused on the artistic talents of skateboarders off their boards. In 2008, the Brain Floss has awoken from its five-year hibernation, and with the help of New Era Cap Company, the artists are being given their choice of hat silhouettes to do as they please—the outcome being a limited run of caps for fans of TWS, New Era, and the featured artist/skateboarder. Number one in a series of six artists is San Francisco’s Benny Gold who chose the classic 59FIFTY and actually did two versions—a black and orange San Francisco version to represent his home, and a brown and gold version to represent San Diego, the home of TWS.
Fitted Hawaii has a limited amount of both styles that Benny Gold created in stock now.
Check out the second cap after the jump.

Haze x G-Shock 25th Anniversary Watch

g-shock x haze 25th anniversary watch - highsnobiety
Casio will release the DW5600EH-7 Eric Haze signature G-SHOCK watch, named after the well-known graphic artist. Designed to commemorate the G-Shock 25th Anniversary, the DW5600EH-7 celebrates the rich history of G-Shock technology and Eric Haze artistry.
As an accomplished graphic artist, Eric Haze has worked across diverse mediums. Since 1999, the collaboration between Haze and G-Shock has produced two previous signature watches (DW6900M-8T and G304EH-7) This is the third Eric Haze edition to be released. The unique G-Shock 25th Anniversary logo that appears on the back of each 25th Anniversary watch was designed by Eric Haze, truly a testament of the close association between G-Shock and Haze.
Reminiscent of the first G-Shock (DW5000-C), the new DW5600EH-7 Eric Hazesignature model has inherited the square shaped bezel. The Eric Haze signature  appears on the band and with the EL backlight. The watch motif is  black-and-white monotone, with red accents for the Eric Haze signatures and the watch face. The 25th anniversary logo, designed by Eric Haze himself, is engraved on the back of the case. Each watch comes in specially designed commemorative packaging.

The DW5600EH-7, MSRP $99, will be available at select Macy’s stores in August.
More images after the jump.
