Asics has released the GT-2 Mountain for Fall 2009. The sneaker is a hiking boot inspired mid top, based on the GT-2 running shoe from Asics. It comes in three colorways this season, some more colorful than others. All of them feature a tonal embroidery pattern on the toe box. The sneaker is now available at Flauge.

A fantastic new colorway of the Asics Gel Lyte Speed will be coming out. Entitled “Grey Goose” the sneaker comes with an upper made of different grey tones and leathers. The mid sole features a red/white stripe pattern, repeated on the laces. Overall a very solid release that you will see coming out in September.

Today we get a first look at the second release of the Trilogy Project. The Culture Shoq Gel Lyte 3 has just released last week, next up is the collaboration with Nicekicks on the popular Asics sneaker. Nicekicks chose to work with all premium leathers on the upper in varsity red. Perforated pig skin, ballistic mesh and the woven laces are nice details on the sneaker. Limited to 250 pairs, the sneaker will be released exclusively at Davidz in October. Via Complex.

The first release from the Trilogy Project has finally come. Asics got together with Davidz and three media outlets to collaborate on their iconic Gel Lyte 3. The first in line to release is the Asics x Culture Shoq sneaker. The sneaker comes as part of a nice pack, consisting of a mesh bag, tank top and Quintin 5-panel cap. The complete set will be going for 135 USD.

The Asics x Culture Shoq Pack will be released today at Davidz.com, as well as at their Soho flagship store in New York, limited to 150 packs overall.

Raf Simons has released some interesting footwear as part of his Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The Space Boot returns in an interesting material mix, featuring leather, nylon and neoprene on the upper, along with a vulcanized sole. The silver metallic zip pocket on the heel certainly makes the high top sneaker stand out even more.

Even more interesting, yet probably not everybodies style, is the Raf Simons x Asics collaboration running shoe. The sneaker features a black base, neon details and a detachable neoprene ankle sleeve.

Both sneakers are now available at Oki-Ni.

As previously mentioned, Davidz’s Ronnie Fieg worked with Asics and three well known online media outlets on Gel Lyte III collaborative sneakers. The first to release is the Culture Shoq Gel Lyte III, which comes in a nice white/black/grey colorway with purple accents. Limited to only 150 pairs worldwide, the sneaker will be released on July 31rst, exclusively at Davidz.com and in their Soho flagship store. They have a couple of surprises waiting for you as well, but more on that soon.

A new collaboration between Asics and Mita Sneakers will hit the market this September. The lightweight running shoe Gel-Lyte Speed is an evolution from the technologically equipped Gel-Light III from 1990. Gel-Lyte Speed, built to meet the demand of increasingly diversifying US runners looking for lightweight shoes, was launched in the US in 1991 and the following year in Japan.

The Gel-Lyte Speed features the split tongue construction; an idea put forward by a shoe developer at the Asics head offices in Kobe in 1988 to prevent the tongue from slipping inside while running. Long-distance runners started taking to this new idea, and the split tongue system was used in the Gel-Lyte III and later in the Gel-Lyte Speed.

The color tone of the 500-pair Gel-Lyte Speed limited edition, a collaboration with Mita Sneakers, was inspired by tropical fruits that bring to mind a comfortable, lightweight and cushioned run along a tropical island beach. The upper uses gradation to further fortify the summer feel. Some of the nylon materials in the upper were inspired by the cotton-woven fabrics often used in Hawaiian summer clothing. Tropical is a key word in this collection.

Today we get a more complete look at the Asics Fall 2009 Collection offering. The brand came out with interesting new colorways of several of their most successful sneakers, including the GT-2, Gel Lyte 3 and the GT-Quick. From more subtle premium styles to the more colorful attention seeking styles, everything is represented in the collection. The line-up is now available at Flauge.

Asics just passed along images from its second collabo with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty to our better halves at Highsnobette. “The shoes fly directly in the face of current sneaker trends toward toned down colors and graphics, which is great news for Hello Kitty fans, who have never been shy about putting their cuteness on blast. The shoes will be available Nov. 1 at Sanrio’s on-line store, and Sanrio stores in New York City, San Francisco and Hawaii.”

Last night the launch of the Bread & Butter x Asics GT Lyte II “Salmon & Butter” Pack took place at Firmament Berlin. BBB worked with Asics on the classic running sneaker and brought out a pack of two colorways. Salmon stands for Japan, the land of origin of the sneaker brand, and Butter stands for Germany, the location and home of Bread & Butter. Logically the sneakers also come in a salmon and a butter colorway, something rather unique and unseenbefore. On the heel you find a gold BBB Berlin embroidery and further details on the in-sole.
