As we get closer to the release of the next collaboration between Patta and Asics, we sat down with Gee from Patta to get a bit more background information on the project. It is not the first team-up of the two, and the Amsterdam store is known for very strong shoe collaborations, especially with Asics. As many of you might remember, their Asics Gel Lyte 3 was probably the shoe to put the Asics brand back on the map in the sneakerhead market.

Therefore, as usual, the Patta crew set the bar high and presents an extremely well executed Asics GEL Saga as part of this latest collaboration. Limited to 400 pairs, the shoe will go on sale on December 22nd, 2011, at Patta and select retailers.

After our initial teaser preview, we get a better look at the upcoming collaboration between Patta and Asics on the GEL Saga. The sneaker landed on the cover of the latest issue of Sneaker Freaker magazine and well deserved. Next to rubberized leather, perforated leather and suede and other great details, the cover also reveals the pony hair panels that the Amsterdam store placed on the sneaker. All in all a fantastic color combination and probably not for the first time, one of the strongest Asics to come out this year. Asics and Amsterdam’s Patta boutique continue their fruitful relationship with a third collaboration. Patta has been a key partner in reintroducing the GEL-Lyte III and GEL Lyte Speed styles, and this forthcoming release sees the two parties reworking the GEL Saga. The preview images show applied materials such as rubberized leather, perforated nubuck and ponyhair. The ASICS x Patta GEL Saga is set to release next month. Inspired by a local running club, The Wildcats, Hanon presents their latest collaboration with Asics on the popular Gel Lyte 3. The running shoe comes with a lux punched suede upper in classic orange and red colors with the addition of tonal 3M tiger stripes and double woven labels on the tongue. The sneaker comes with three lace sets and a dust bag, featuring the ‘Keeps On Burning’ logo by Hanon.

The Hanon x Asics Gel Lyte 3 ‘Wildcats’ will drop on October 28th, 2011. The store will hold a preview event the Thursday evening before the launch, with only a very few sets going on sale that night.

The Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III ‘Salmon Toe’ release is also going to mark the grand opening of KITH. For the in-store release, Good Wood and MASCustoms crafted a limited run of 40 premium wood boxes that will include a KITH x Asics collaborative Salmon Toe T-Shirt and wooden dog tags that feature the KITH symbol and logo, Asics logo, as well as their motto, “Just Us.” Available September 30th, 11am EST at KITH.

Parisian brand and creative agency Surface To Air have opened a new retail space in New York City. Located at 27 Mercer Street, the shop opens today, showcasing the new Fall/Winter 2011 collection, including the Asics x Surface To Air sneakers and the Kid Cudi x Surface To Air leather jackets. Kid Cudi imagery is also displayed on the walls of the open concept retail space.

Who would have thought that a sneaker release can be so dramatic? Well, Ronnie Fieg presents a teaser to his upcoming Asics collaboration – the Gel Lyte 3 ‘Salmon Toe’. The color combination looks great. We will keep you posted on the release!

After an earlier preview, Ronnie Fieg produced this series of lifestyle images with Jen Yeager in Las Vegas, giving us a further look at the Asics Gel Lyte 3 ‘Leatherback’ that he will be releasing in the near future. While there are still no exact release dates to be announced, you will for sure enjoy this second look at the sneaker.

Tokyo retailer atmos has once again worked with Asics on a new version of the Gel Lyte 3. Coming with a tonal black upper, mixing leather and mesh, accents are set in metallic gold on the logo stripes. Furthermore they added a speckled mid sole to the sneaker. The overall result is certainly of the better collaborative efforts on the running shoe. The sneaker will release October 2011.

This month Asics will be bringing back one of their most iconic 90s runners, the Gel Saga II. Plucked straight from the vault, the sneaker returns in two original colorways – black/purple and white/blue/yellow. Coming in very limited numbers, Hanon and Foot Patrol are among the retailers to release them on August 27th, 2011.
