Sophnet got together with UGG Australia to work on the Tasmania sandal. The outcome is a classic UGG sandal that comes in two colorways – brown and black. Both feature an embossed Sophnet logo.

We report pretty much every day about brands that mostly work with graphics on their clothing. At times its also really refreshing to take a closer look at brand such as Rittenhouse. The Australian brand has made a strong name for itself in recent years and present solid collections.
Unlike many others out there, they do hardly ever work with graphics and concentrate more on patterns, cuts and the details. The outcome is for this Spring/Summer 2008 season a smart collection that takes a new look at basics, giving them a refreshing make-over by playing with the panels and adding small details here and there.

The long wait is over. One of Australia’s premier boutiques, Provider, is getting ready to release their collaboration with New Balance on the 1500 model. The shoe comes in fresh colors, while keeping an overall clean look. The aqua blue is a nice contract.

On May 10th it will be released at Provider and they will also put 40 pairs of it into their online store.
UPDATE: Here some more news on the release that just got in. Those of you living in Berlin, will be able to get your hands on these sneakers even earlier. Solebox will release them on the 3rd of May, but they only have 11 pairs and they will only be available in store.

Norse has received a good selection of the new PAM Autumn/Winter 2007 collection. Especially the knitwear is very intriguing in the new season with complicated patterns and prints, design woven directly into the fabric and nicely matched up with scarves and other accessories.

Hopefully you recall Supply, Australia’s most exclusive store carrying the same range of brands such as Union, Juice and the other top tier accounts. Once in a while they also bring out their own t-shirt line and always work with some interesting artists. The new line is dropping soon and this time they worked with Ed Repka. A connoisseur of the grotesque and proponent of supernatural realism, Repka is perhaps best known worldwide for his illustrations of Vic Rattlehead-Megadeth’s skeletal mascot from the 1980’s, which for over a decade has adorned CD covers, posters, tshirts. In general the artist is best known for 80’s metal band cd covers.
Here above you see the graphic he did for Supply – Sydney on Fire! After the jump some more examples of his work. We’ll keep you posted on the release of the new Supply t-shirts.

September 1 sees the release of the Triumvir Australasian Exclusive “Victorian Thieves” T. Coinciding with the Fall 1 drop, will be this very special product made exclusively for select Triumvir accounts in Australia and New Zealand.
The T will be available in Sydney (Espionage), Brisbane (Laced), Auckland (Qubic), and online at FreshIn.com with only 12 produced for each store.
For this regional exclusive release, the team at Triumvir took the time to come up with a concept that fitted the project, explained here by Brandon of Triumvir:

“Queen Victoria- Many Australians have ancestry linked to the United Kingdom, and scores of them still see the Queen as a direct/indirect symbol of their past. The Thieves- When Australia was first occupied by the British; She was a transport ground for prisoners from the Empire of the United Kingdom. The Arm & Sword was actually taken from the flag of Thomas Tew (a pirate from the 17^th century), however- we altered it to a sword that was commonly known as a “Gothic Hilt” from the Victorian Era. We also incorporated a tattoo with the stars of the Southern Cross shown on the Australian flag to mirror the fact that in the past, Thieves were tattooed and branded.”

The new Schwipe Fall/Winter 2007 collection has been released in part and goes under the title “The Eyes Dont Lies”. Schwipe has become one of our favorite Australian brands in the past couple of years – their graphic style and cut & sew always makes them stand out of the herd.
This is no different with their Fall/Winter 2007 collection. For now they only released hoodies, t-shirts, cardigans with pants, knitwear and the womens line still waiting to be released. As usual they present bold colors and graphics and interesting cut & sew in the collection. For some reason they manage the strong colos better than many others out there – hard to explain.

To describe Rittenhouse best, one might use the words “quiet detailing”. Combine that with sophisticated graphics, beautiful fabrics and a strong focus on quality Australian manufacturing and you might start to get a picture in your mind of what this unique label entails. We have been watching them closely now for almost 2 years and have never been disappointed by the label.
Rittenhouse’s Autumn/Winter collection is the 7th collection and continues to be skilfully made in Australia with a focus on quality and fit. The new collection consists of nice classic coats, wool sweaters, crewnecks, t-shirts, denim and more. A piece never it what it looks like. Small, smart details can be found on almost every piece, especially the ones that seem simple and not special at first.
Take a close look at the preview after the jump and see if you can find those small details, that make Rittenhouse so special and a brand to watch.

2×4 is a new interesting t-shirt concept out of Australian. Every release will consist of 8 t-shirts in total. Each design is run off in limited quantities of 200 across all sizes. Once sold out, thats it. Each release they will select four artists that they feel are doing something unique in the world of art, design, illustration or photography.
The first release is out now and features works by Jeff Canham, Emil Kozak, Noah Butkus and Regular Product. Definitely worth checking out if you want a new tee or if you want to be one of the future artists to be features in a new 2×4 collection.

Just recently we reported about the Nom de Guerre x Mackintosh collaboration in their new Fall 2007 collection. At Refinery 29 we now also came across this new collaboration between Australian brand Rittenhouse and Mackintosh of Scotland. They re-invented the traditional Mackintosh rubberized trench.
The result, launching this month, is the reinvigoration of the classic coat with a hand-printed detachable wool-flannel liner in Rittenhouse’s signature “checkers” design, a celebration of each labels’ individual styles that gives new breath to an old standby.
