For Spring/Summer 2011, Fred Perry has reworked two styles from its Authentic footwear line to create a ‘Woven Stripe’ story for the warmer months ahead.

The Foxx lace-ups and Byron mid-height boot both use a preppy striped, woven cotton, offset by tan waxed shoelaces. The iconic laurel wreath is positioned discretely at the heel of the shoe.

Another new arrival from the Vans Fall 2010 collection is this ‘Glitch Checker’ pack that includes canvas Authentics and Slip-ons with a pixelated checkerboard pattern. Look for these at your local Vans retailer.

Trendy New York City mac-and-cheese joint MacBar teamed with Vans to outfit their staff in mac-and-cheese yellow, raincoat-vinyl Authentics. Our friends at Kempt feel that “a low-top galosh sneaker is pretty much perfect for casual raingear—and canvas was getting a little played out anyway.” It’s an interesting move for sure. Let’s see which like minded restaurants follow suit.

Some first sneakers from the Vans Spring 2010 Classics range have already been released. The drop includes the Sk8 Hi, the Chukka, Chukka Low and the Authentic. All 4 sneakers come in a light grey colorway and are now available at Bows & Arrows.

After recently dropping their Vans Chukka collaboration, Japanese brand Deluxe presents yet another collaborative sneaker with the brand. This time they worked with Vans on the Authentic. It comes in a nice light grey colorway with blue accents, a blue leather stripe on the heel and a blue lining. The sneaker will be released on December 8th at Dedue.

Renowned artist Taka Hayashi offers his distinctive handstyle to Vans for their 27th annual Triple Crown of Surfing event that takes place starting this November at Hawaii’s North Shore. Inspired by the Hawaiian venue, the shoes sport a black on black reef-like print across a canvas upper with an orange interpration on the inside. The shoe also features metal eyelets, round laces, and a blue sole (for the water!). Alongside original Taka Vans logos adorning the tongue and heel, the insoles are printed with the full Triple Crown of Surfing Hawaii script. Now available at Flauge.

Vans is one of the few brands where we are as excited about the classic goods as we are about the new and more innovative. For Fall/Winter 2009 we once again see our favorite silhouettes of the brand reworked in solid premium materials.
