In a few weeks, OHWOW will be opening their bookstore in New York City. Co-owner Al Moran shares a peek into a special bag produced by DRx for this occassion. “Aside from our publications, we’ll also be carrying some accessories and objects made for us by our friends and family. This backpack was produced for our grand opening by one of my closest friends Darren Romanelli. We’ve been talking about doing something together for a while now and I’m psyched that he found the time to develop a small line of bags and caps for us.” There’s definitely much more to come, and if you’re familiar with OHWOW, you know they have very talented friends and family. Eastpak worked together with Silas on the Captive Backpack. The backpack comes in a blue/black striped colorway with beige suede bottom. The suede part also feaures a large embossed Silas logo.

Next to the footwear that we already showed in the past weeks, Nike SB will also release a large selection of apparel and accessories this month. The drop includes everything from t-shirts, hoodies, lined plaid shirts, down jackets to beanies, scarves, socks, caps, backpacks and a series of wallets.

Following the Harris Tweed capsule, Base Control releases another solid day pack for the season. The very classically shaped bag comes in four different polka dot canvas/suede combinations and includes a nice pinstripe lining. visvim has released the Ballistic 22L backpack. The backpack is slightly larger than their previous 20L model and comes in a really nice grey colorway. We like that it has all the technical features one cold wish for, but maintains a not too technical look. As usual the bottom of the backpack comes in a premium leather, in this case tonal. Once again visvim and Sophnet have worked on some luggage pieces from the visvim Ballistic Collection. For Fall/Winter 2009 they chose the Ballistic 20 backpack and the Ballistic Lumber 8 waist bag. Both pieces come in navy with ballistic upper and leather bottom. The two bags will be released on October 31st at Sophnet retailers.

DRx (aka Dr. Romanelli) masterminded a collection of mix-n-match plaid wool and leather paneled backpacks, button-downs and caps for Union LA. Entitled the Summit Collection, the offering is extensive and takes clear inspiration from the prevalent mountaineering trend. We say go nuts and wear it all at once.

Directed by Freak’s Store, LIKeEARTH is a line focused on green materials (such as organic or recycled). This season, The North Face Purple Label and LIKeEARTH joined forces on an organic canvas version of the Purple Label Mountain Parka. The jacket is offered in black with blue highlights or navy with red accents. A classic TNF backpack in navy and black was also produced in the same organic canvas. Now available from Freak’s Store.

Japanese bag label master-piece teams up with well respected bike maker Koichi Yamaguchi on this outstanding backpack. Snaps, pockets and zippers abound as obvious cycling references. The result in a great looking, highly functional day pack. Spotted at tokishirazu.

We take a look at some more product from the Undercover Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. In the accessories department the Japanese brand presents a really nice large size backpack, as well as some leather/wool gloves and a winter boot with several velcro straps. Furthermore we like a lot the down vest and down jacket of the season, both featuring an interesting material mix and great details on the upper. The product is now available from The Corner.
