A new colorway of the popular The North Face Purple Label Day Pack has released this week. A classic Norwegian knit pattern has been printed on the nylon outer shell of the backpack, which features light brown suede leather accents for reinforcement. The backpack is now in stock at Zozo.

One of our favorite pieces from the upcoming Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 Collection is the above backpack. Mixing both safari, heritage and modern looks, this new large size backpack from the French luxury brand is stylish and functional. We appreciate the tonal application of the monogram, we would have taken it as well without monogram actually. The mix of leathers, canvas and nylon work well on the backpack and make it stand out at the same time.

From top to bottom, White Mountaineering’s Wardrobe collection produces some of the nicest, cleanest and most wearable pieces out there. It’s much more basic in appearance and less technical than the regular White Mountaineering line, but it illustrates Yosuke Aizawa’s range quite nicely. Wardrobe consists largely of tops, a few bottoms, and minimal accessories, but one highlight of it all are these Selspan Corduroy backpacks. Basic and sophisticated, they come in 5 colors including black, navy, brown, khaki and gray. We’re partial towards the khaki color, what do you guys think?

White Mountaineering is without a doubt one of the most interesting brands coming from Japan at the moment. Offering an innovative outdoor look, the brand always plays with interesting materials and patterns in its collections.

Here we take a look at their collaboration with Porter for Spring/Summer 2012. The three piece offering, includes two backpacks and an army bag, all three made of used denim and featuring nice leather details at the bottom and on the upper.

Riddle time: What’s 10x stronger than steel, yet is quite literally featherweight to a point of being able to float on water? Answer: nonwoven Dyneema. Outlier took this incredible material and with assistance from Hyperlite Mountain Gear, the two were able to create this Minimal Backpack. It’s quite possible the most basic backpack in terms of appearance, but its extremely capable of lugging around, say a bag of bricks, with ease and it is waterproof to boot. It also features a roll top closure, taped seams and you can even fold it down and put it in your jacket pocket, should you not have a need for it at the time being. Made of ‘Konbu’ Japanese baked nylon and a reinforced patchwork bottom, visvim presents the newest member to its ever growing family of high quality luggage pieces – the Lamina 20L Picaro. For us the 20L is the perfect backpack size, as you have enough space for your laptop, DSLR and even for a short overnight trip, yet you do not look like you are going hiking for the next three weeks. visvim has released the Summit Papoose Backpack this week. The light weight daypack is made from Japanese baked nylon, Konbu, and reinforced with a Japanese canvas lower section. Coming in overall 4 colorways, we like the mix of materials and colors, giving the Summit Papoose a nice and refreshing look.

Goodhood presents its 7th collaborative collection with R. Newbold for Fall/Winter 2011. The new line offers a nice selection of sweaters, shirts, jackets, as well as accessories, including ties, backpacks and fur lined sneakers. As usual you get a nice mix of classics and more eye catching patterns.

“Our long term collaboration with R. Newbold reaches its 7th collection. A galaxy print and can be found on a number of items including a basic backpack and an iconic pair of chuck lows with this seasons choice footwear detail – fur lining. Other items of interest include a tie based on the classic Royal Marines Regiment tie tweaked to feature lightning bolts instead of stripes. Jacquard chambray shirts featuring lightning bolts and military chinos with engineered star prints. One of the highlights for for us was being able to design the iconic chuck’s. The black suede pair with an embossed star print lend themselves particularly to our tastes. The off white fur lining, the lightning bolt bumper print and the heel patch message all combine to create a great piece of footwear.”

Early December Bedwin & The Heartbreakers and The North Face will release their second collaborative capsule collection. For Fall/Winter 2011 the two have worked on some nice jackets, as well as a backpack and some beanies. Bedwin infused some nice colors and patterns onto the staple The North Face items used as part of the collection.

Look out for a release at The North Face Standard in Tokyo and Bedwin retailers in the coming weeks.

Nike has been doing an excellent job ramping up their apparel and accessories sections with the Nike Sportswear brand. Especially the more limited Nike NSW range has continuously delivered interesting new product these past seasons. The luggage has improved and expanded season after season and the new Fall/Winter 2011 NSW Eugene Cheyenne 2000 Backpack is the best yet.

Without a doubt, the NSW range is heavily inspired by some of our favorite Japanese brands. Yet, Nike manages to bring across its own identity and stays true to their core goal of innovation. The Eugene Cheyenne 2000 Backpack comes this season with a nice robust waterproof upper and leather front pockets, with waterproof zippers all around. Next to the main compartment, there is a separate laptop compartment and two front compartments for the smaller accessories that you need quicker access to. It is really the little details that make the backpack so outstanding, including the matte black metal buckles and subtle overall branding.
