Scott Sternberg and his label Band of Outsiders debut an exclusive line for Barneys called No Bunk! No Junk!. The premiere collection consists of a well-selected group of crisp black and white pieces including a basic black suit in corduroy, a leather jacket, a plaid shirt and more. Designer Scott Sternberg once again presented a really strong Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Short pea coats, well cut blazers, rolled up pants and shorts, and all that mixed with the latest Band of Outsiders for Sperry footwear made for an overall great look. You also find a nice series of dip-dyed ties and shirts in the collection. We continue to really feel the look of the California designer.

Selectism covered Sperry’s forthcoming Spring 2010 Band of Outsiders collection that was on display in Las Vegas. “The collection keeps on growing with additions of distinctive fabrics, and new color ways in the suede deck looks. We should note that the inline Sperry collection has begun to pull from past season Band of Outsiders collection.”

Finally we get a complete look at the new Band of Outsiders for Sperry Topsider Fall/Winter 2009 Footwear. Next to mid boat shoes, Chukkas, regular boat shoes and loafers, the most interesting new releases in the collection are probably the Rubber Boat Shoes. These come with a painted Trompe L’oeil, basically faking the look of a regular boat with graphics on an otherwise seamless upper. They present several colorways of this special release. The Chukka comes in both suede and premium leathers with nice striped canvas linings. Also really nice are the flannel boat shoes in the line-up, perfectly bringing the style into the colder months of the year.

Band of Outsiders has shot their new Fall 2009 Collection Lookbook. They worked with actor Jason Schwartzman, who models key pieces from their collection. The brand once again presents some perfect outfits in the new line, which consists of a strong line-up of blazers, suits, shirts, jackets and accessories. Of course the Sperry for Band of Outsiders shoe collection also gets its shine in the shoot.

The clothes coupled with the photography style of the lookbook work perfectly and once again demonstrate the world of Band of Outsiders. It is always great seeing a brand do something perfectly inline with their identity, resulting in strong overall branding. Band of Outsiders communicates lifestyle more than anything.

The collaboration between Sperry Topsider and Band of Outsider continues for Fall/Winter 2009. This season the two brands worked on new variations of the classic boat shoe, as well as on a line-up of loafers and ankle boots. Materials used include suede, leather and felt wool. The footwear is now available at Surrender.

We present you one of our favorite pieces from the new Band Of Outsiders Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. The brand managed to give the classic baseball jacket a more sophisticated style, while keeping it clean and sporty. Certainly a nice lightweight spring jacket. Most of you should have seen by now the Band Of Outsiders New York Fashion Week event from a couple of weeks ago. Here we give you a look now at a video projection that the brand created for the summer shows in 2008, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

With the comeback of the boatshoe we of course see lots of collaborations in this field as well. In the end of the day, in our mind nobody has ever come close to what Band Of Outsiders is doing with Sperry Topsider. Keeping the classic looks, yet making it much more interesting than the regular line-up of the Sperry Topsider brand.

For Spring/Summer 2009 the two brands one again get together and present the classic boatshoe in a deconstructed version in two colorways and also worked on a tassel loafer, equally interesting.
