Hot Toys has something great in store for later this year with their 1/6th scale Batmobile from The Dark Knight. This thing appears to be spot on, and as you can see from the highly detailed design that would make Batman’s goods supplier, Lucius Fox, proud. This appears to be releasing sometime during the second quarter of the year, so be on the lookout. Hopefully, we can bring you more news in regards to the release as the time nears.

We came across a pretty cool visual history of the bat suit of Batman. Created by Benjamin Andre Moore, the designer thought it would be interesting to showcase visually the different iterations of the suit that took place between 1939 and 2012. The changes include comic, TV, movies and theaters.

The latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, is already one of the more anticipated movie releases for 2012. Judging from the artwork that has been circulating, rightfully so. The first two teaser movie posters for the film have been revealed and create a beautiful dark atmosphere around the film – one featuring the Batman logo in the Gotham skyline and the other one featuring Bane walking away from the iconic Batman mask. The film will come to theaters Summer 2012.

SOPHNET has once again worked with Disney and DC Comics as part of their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. After already having released t-shirts earlier in the season, they now present knitwear. The crewneck sweaters feature Superman and Batman logos, as well as Mickey Mouse. The sweaters will be available from Sophnet retailers starting October 1st, 2011.

If you checked out “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ this weekend (which earned a weekend total of $168.5 million) you probably caught this “The Dark Knight Rises” trailer already. For everyone else, here’s a first look at the latest Batman flick! Big.

This past Thursday, production began on “The Dark Knight Rises,” the third part of Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Batman trilogy. In tandem Warner Bros. launched the official site thedarkknightrises.com and, through a #thefirerises Twitter hashtag campaign, unveiled a first look at Tom Hardy as Bane. Rumor has it a first trailer will debut at screenings of “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ in July.

In an interesting collaboration Japanese brand Bounty Hunter teams up with DC Comics and Airwalk on a pack of sneakers. Keeping it overall very clean, the two sneakers come in all black, featuring a mix of suede and leather on the upper. Tonal Bounty Hunter and Batman/Superman branding is placed on the upper. These are certainly not the most innovative silhouette, but if you are a Bounty Hunter and Batman fan, this is just perfect.

As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, DC Comics has linked up with Medicom to collaborate on a Kubrick Set. The set consists of 100% versions of Superman and Batman and is available through Project 1/6.

Another interesting toy release are the new Batman Bearbricks by Medicom. The iconic character returns in the form of Bearbricks in both 400% and 1000% sizes.

As part of their collaboration with DC Comics, colette has invited Italian footwear maker Superga to produce comic heroe themed sneakers. The sneakers come in the iconic colors of each respective superheroe with further branding all-over the sneaker. Included in the drop are Superman sneakers, Batman sneakers and Green Lantern sneakers. They are now available here.
