Today we come across an interesting concept by schellDsign for Bell & Ross. The idea was to fuse the worlds of Bell & Ross and Apple in a new concept that brings together the design aesthetic of the high end watch brand and the iPod Nano. Not only do we like the idea and the outcome, it will also be interesting to see if a brand in the high end watch market will ever be able to go down such a route, incorporating today’s technology, while still remaining quality craftsman.

The BR M&T (Music & Time) 01 is essentially only a strap, where you can lock your iPod Nano into. Bell & Ross would then offer themed watches, that you can switch between on the Nano, every time completely changing the look of the watch.

Two beautiful new watches have been presented by Bell & Ross this week. Their BR02 divers watch will be released soon in new steel and phantom versions. The steel version comes with a carbon fibre dial, is 44mm in size and up to 1000 meters water resistant. The black Phantom colorway comes in a black PVD stainless steel case with diamond cut black dial, otherwise with similar specifications to the other model. Look out for these at better watch stores soon.

Bell & Ross watches and Shaw Harley-Davidson – the current world champions in modified Harley-Davidson motorcycles – have teamed up to develop a one-off custom motorcycle. The project bike is based on the Harley-Davidson FXSTB Softail Nightrain, which was totally stripped down and then rebuilt with the Bell & Ross BR 01 Carbon watch mounted in a handcrafted center console. A combination of anodized blue, carbon and stealth-like matte black custom paint was used on the bike to reflect the timepiece.

Watch maker Bell & Ross will soon be introducing their new BR 01 Radar. Once again they were inspired by the aircraft cockpit, this time the radar display and adapted it to their trademark BR 01 watch. Limited to only 500 pieces worldwide, the watch will see an exclusive pre-release at colette in Paris, where also the watches 1-10 will be sold. colette will carry the watch from August 30th.

The new BR 03 Military Ceramic from Bell & Ross celebrates the art of military camouflage. “Constructed entirely from an olive drab, camouflage ceramic, the watch’s military character and stealthy spirit make it seem as if we are the ones behind the controls – just like a real fighter pilot.” Available in stores now.

An interesting new watch is coming from Bell & Ross – The Compass Watch. This time it is not only a design innovation, but also technically a different watch from their other models.

“You will immediately notice that this is not a normal watch — in fact the design is inspired by old school aviation navigation instruments in that the watch keeps time via one fixed point at the top of the dial.

Rather than two hands moving around a dial, the dial — or in this case two dials — move around a single hand (ie a fixed point). Thus there are two concentric disks which independently rotate to reflect the hours (outer dial) and minutes (inner dial).

The watch is limited to 500 pieces and will be released in October 2010.

Watchmaker Bell & Ross presents their new BR03 Heritage line. Their iconic BR03 model comes in a new look, featuring a light vegetable tanned strap with thick stitching. Matching the leather strap, the dial features light beige details. The watch comes both in its regular style and as a chronograph.

Bell & Ross has released what they claim is “the first watch to be constructed entirely of a carbon fiber case”. And if you’re a fan of carbon fiber, the dial and strap also feature the lightweight, high performance material as well. Ready for 100m water resistance. Limited to 500 examples. A lot of watches today, right? But I’ll be damned if this one isn’t a looker.
