Benedict Radcliffe Exhibition at Number Six, London - "Old Work"

May 7th sees artist Benedict Radcliffe display his work at menswear retailer Number Six. The title of the exhibition is “OLD WORK: 2005-2009″ in which we are invited to explore the former works of an artist who has since undertaken commissions for Paul Smith, Puma, Red Bull and Comme des Garcons.

His artwork looks at a number of themes; his love of machines and engineering, commercial branding and familiar logos or graphics and transferring them to different contexts and materials.

Nike Sportswear x Benedict Radcliffe Air Max 1 Wire Frame Sculpture

Nike Sportswear worked together with UK artist/designer Benedict Radcliffe on a large scale 3.5 meter wire frame sculpture.

“Featuring a 3.5-meter, or 11.4-foot long wire frame mock-up of the Air Max 1, constructed by soldering and bending several galvanized aluminum pipes. The produced piece was then painted in Varsity Blue colorway.”

The artwork is now on display at the Nike Sportswear 1948 store in London and definitely worth checking out. If you cannot make it out there, take a more detailed look at the sculpture after the jump.
