When we presented you yesterday the letters I to P of the Adidas aZX project, you might have realized that unlike in the first group there were only six shoes, instead of eight, and that in fact two letters were missing in the presentation – the I and the O. Well, those we will present you exclusively here, starting with the I, which stands for the Adidas I-Stores.
Taking the ZX 700 silhouette and reworking the upper slickly, the I-Store version takes the letter ‘I’ and mixes bold colours with muted shades and premium leather applications to give it a completely different look that amplifies the original design’s high points with fresh details like the orange ghilly fastening and ribbed panel on the forefoot. A dose of green makes for a striking look, while the suede tongue detailing and simple but effective split heel panel application, decorated with 6 (London) and 74 (Berlin) to represent the selected adidas store locations completes a memorable makeover.
This shoe will only be available at the Adidas Icon stores in London and Berlin, also called No. 6 and No. 74.

Last week saw the opening of the new 14 oz. store in Berlin. Right in the heart ofBerlin Mitte, close to other favorites of ours such as A.P.C., Nort and Firmament, the new store opened.
14 oz. already existed in Cologne from 1999-2003 and then the founder moved on to start the Bread & Butter tradeshow. Now he has decided to re-open it, but in Berlin. 14 oz. as you might have guessed by the name already, specializes in denim and carries brands such as Earnest Sewn, Atelier LaDurance, Levi’s, Wrangler and many others. They also carry other great brands including Dunderdon and Steven Alan.
Bottom line, it is definitely worth a visit on your next Berlin trip.

Especially abroad, the Munich based label GOMMA enjoys the reputation as one of Germany´s most important music collectives. Besides their progressive music projects, the Gomma Gang has a huge output of visual work, of a diverse aesthetic and visual complexity which goes far beyond being simply artwork for music. Once a year they launch; the postermagazine AMORE, a limited t-shirt collection made in collaboration with BEANS (Tokyo) and MAGNIFIQUE (Los Angeles), and present the annual MONDO GOMMA Picture show, which takes place in a gallery somewhere between Barcelona and Tokyo. Art directors of GOMMA are MIRKO BORSCHE and THOMAS KARTSOLIS aka SMAL and PAZE. Both have been awarded with several prizes, one of which being the Lead Award Germany in 2007.
Within MONDO GOMMA Picture Show there will be illustrations, music, and artwork exhibited by SMALPAZE with work from the label’s contributing artists and designers. So far the show has featured artwork by Michael Sailsdorfer, Kostas Murkudis, MUNK, Benjamin Röder, Daniel Josefsohn and The Rammellzee. Previous years events have been held in Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona and last year in Tokyo, where Berlin based magazine 032C curated an exhibition showcasing five European Newcomers: the GOMMA universe was shown alongside Jonathan Meese, Amelie von Wulfen and Marc Brandenburg.
The next issue of AMORE poster magazine will be released in June 2008. As it’s regular feature it will include 24 broadsheet posters designed by SMALPAZE. For this issue, the role of "special guest" illustrator is taken up by the Australian MISHA HOLLENBACH aka PERKS. He and his girlfriend Mini, form the Melbourne based design- and fashion collective PAM, which in the last couple of years has emerged as a leading name in New Illustration. In Japan the collective’s name is revered to an almost cult like status.
The Pool Gallery is proud to present the MONDO GOMMA Picture Show No. 5. During the opening the new AMORE Magazine will be launched.
The exhibition opened yesterday and will run until July 7th. We passed by and can give you a detailed look at the works by both Misha Hollenback and Smal & Paze.

A little while ago we presented you No. 74, a new concept store by Adidas in Berlin. The idea behind the store is both to present limited edition Adidas products, such as the Y-3 collection and the Consortium range, but also to source special product around the globe and offer it in the Berlin space.
After opening No. 74 this year, they have now transformed it for the first time into an oriental market. Inspired by the typical US garage sale in terms of style, the store offers a variety of goods now, all in the oriental theme and everything you see is also for sale. Via Artschoolvets.

Adidas recently opened No. 74 in Berlin, a concept store that will be presenting exclusive items sourced around the globe. The store will carry both Adidas and non-Adidas product and will also be offering exclusive sneakers and clothing only available at No. 74.
Adidas chose a minimal hidden space in the heart of Berlin. From the outside you can hardly see that it is a store and inside a modern space welcomes you. Currently the store carries the Spring/Summer Y-3 collection with a lot more to come.

„My photographs serve as modern dioramas of our new natural history.“
In Domesticated Amy Stein explores the paradoxical relationship between man and the natural world: The primal issues of comfort and fear, dependence and determination, submission and dominance refer to our modern every day life.
The photographs in this series are constructed based on real stories from American provincial life.
By contrast, the setting of Halloween in Harlem is the City: kids are posing in colourful costumes in the streets of New York. With their unconscious commitment to the traditions and rituals of this typical American holiday, the protagonists appear proud and isolated at the same time.
New American Fables shows selected works of both series.
Pool Gallery proudly presents the first solo exhibition of Amy Stein in Germany.
The New York based photographer has built up a successful career since graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 2006. She has been exhibited in a number of group shows immediately after graduating, won the 2006 Saatchi Gallery/Guardian Prize, has been named one of the world’s top 15 emerging photographers by American Photo magazine and won the Critical Mass Book Award in 2007.
